If you own no templates, a library tool is cheaper and faster. If you own PSD templates and list in batches, a library tool cannot help you at all. Start from that question, not from price.

Which one should you actually buy?
- Placeit — You own no PSD templates, publish a handful of designs a month, and want scenes plus video and logo tools in one flat subscription.
- Dynamic Mockups — You need a mockup rendering API to embed in your own product, or your volume is spiky enough that buying credits beats a flat monthly fee.
- Canva — You need one or two mockups occasionally, do not own PSD templates, and value having everything in the tool you already use.
- Smartmockups — Not applicable — the product is discontinued. Canva is the official successor for library-scene mockups.
- Mockey AI — You are starting out, testing a niche, or need a handful of mockups a week and the budget is genuinely zero.
- Adobe Photoshop — You build or repair your own templates, need pixel-level control over a specific image, or publish few enough designs that manual placement is not a bottleneck.
