Where the name comes from
PSDmate is PSD — the layered Photoshop file format your mockup templates are saved in — plus mate, because it does the boring half of the job with you. It is pronounced “P-S-D mate”. The whole product is built around that file type: PSDmate opens your PSDs on the server, finds the Smart Object layer, and renders your artwork into it, so you never open Photoshop yourself. PSDmate is web software, sold by subscription at psdmate.com, and it is not affiliated with Adobe, Etsy, or any similarly named hardware or consumer-electronics brand.
