Free Etsy Profit and Fee Calculator

Put in a price and a print cost, see exactly what you keep — and what you would have to charge to keep 30%.

An Etsy profit calculator works out what a sale actually leaves you after Etsy's fees and your own costs. On a typical print-on-demand order Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the whole order total including the shipping you charge, payment processing of 3%–4% plus a flat fee set by your country, a regulatory operating fee in some markets, and 12%–15% more if the order is attributed to Offsite Ads. This free calculator applies all of them at your country's rates, subtracts your product and fulfilment costs, and then solves the question sellers actually have: the price you would need to charge to hit a 20%, 30% or 40% margin. It runs in your browser and needs no account.

Rates checked against Etsy’s published schedule on 2026-08-11: $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee on the order total including shipping, 3% + $0.25 payment processing. The listing fee and the $100 Offsite Ads cap are charged in USD whatever your shop currency, so outside the US they are treated at par here — near enough for a pricing decision, not a substitute for your Etsy statement. Fees change; check Etsy’s fee policy before you rely on a number. Nothing here is tax or accounting advice.

The problem this solves

Etsy shows you revenue, not profit. The fees are individually small and collectively about 30% once Offsite Ads land, and they apply to different bases — some to the item, some to the order total including shipping, some flat per item. Work it out in your head and you will be out by enough to sell a loss-making design for eight months without noticing.

What it does

Every fee, at your country's rate

Listing, transaction, payment processing, Offsite Ads, regulatory operating fee and currency conversion, with the processing rate and flat fee set by your shop's country rather than assuming everyone sells from the United States.

The reverse question

Given your costs, it solves for the item price that hits break-even and 20%, 30% and 40% margin. That is the number that decides a price, and it is solved algebraically rather than by trial and error.

Offsite Ads modelled honestly

Tick it and see the same sale at half the profit. The 12% rate for shops over $10,000 in trailing revenue is a separate toggle, as is the $100 per-order cap.

Shipping counted where Etsy counts it

The transaction fee applies to shipping you charge the buyer, not just the item price. Charge $6 shipping and $0.39 of it is gone before anything ships.

Nothing leaves your browser

All arithmetic runs locally. No upload, no account, no numbers stored anywhere.

Questions

How much does Etsy take per sale?

Roughly 11–13% of the order total on a normal sale: $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing of 3%–4% plus a flat fee. If the order is attributed to Offsite Ads, add 12% or 15%, which takes the total nearer 25–30%.

Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. Etsy's 6.5% applies to the full order total — item price, shipping you charge, gift wrap and personalisation. This is the fee sellers most often forget when they price free shipping in.

Can I avoid the Offsite Ads fee?

Only below $10,000 in trailing twelve-month revenue, where you can opt out. Above it, participation is mandatory and permanent, though the rate drops from 15% to 12% and no single order is charged more than $100.

Why is the number different from my Etsy statement?

This applies Etsy's published schedule. Your statement reflects what was actually charged, including refunds, partial cancellations, VAT on fees and your specific market's rates. Treat this as a pricing tool, not a bookkeeping one — the accounting side of PSDmate imports your real ledger for that.

Is a 30% margin realistic for print-on-demand?

On a mid-priced item with no Offsite Ads attributed, yes. On the same item fully attributed, it usually is not without raising the price. Pricing so a fully-attributed order still clears your minimum is the safer habit.
