A wall art mockup generator drops your artwork into a photographed room so buyers can judge scale, framing and how the piece sits against a wall. PSDmate renders from your own PSD room-scene templates: it maps your file into the frame's Smart Object with the correct perspective, and produces every aspect ratio, frame colour and scene in a single batch — which is what a poster listing with five print sizes actually needs.
How it works
- Upload your PSD templates. PSDmate finds the Smart Object placeholder in each file — no layer renaming, no setup.
- Add your artwork. One design or a folder of them.
- Render the batch. Every design against every template, at the PSD’s native canvas size, returned as a ZIP.
- Publish to Etsy. AI writes the title, description and 13 tags from the rendered image, then posts the draft listing to your shop.
PSDmate does not supply wall arttemplates. It renders the ones you own — bought from Creative Market, Envato or Etsy, or built from your own photography. That is the trade: your scenes stay yours instead of appearing in every other shop’s listings.
Wall Art print specifications
| Common ratios | 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11:14 and the ISO A series |
| Artwork resolution | 300 DPI at the largest size you sell; 150 DPI is acceptable above about 24 × 36 in |
| Digital downloads | Supply each ratio as a separate file rather than one crop |
| File format | JPEG or PDF for delivery; PSD for the template |
| Etsy listing image | 2000 px on the shortest side or larger |
These are the common figures across major print-on-demand suppliers, not a guarantee. Your supplier’s own spec sheet always wins — see the DPI and resolution guide for how to check a file before listing it.
What makes a wall art mockup convert
Perspective must match
A frame photographed at an angle needs the artwork skewed to match. A straight paste into an angled frame is the most common wall art mockup failure.
Scale against furniture
A print floating on a blank wall gives no size cue. A sofa, table or door edge in frame tells the buyer whether it is A4 or a metre wide.
Frame colour vs artwork
Oak, black and white frames suit different palettes. Render all three and lead with whichever fits the piece.
Ratio honesty
If you sell five ratios, show them. Cropping one image to fake a second is the top cause of wall art refund requests.
Choosing a wall art PSD template
- Buy room scenes with the frame as a separate Smart Object and a glass reflection layer above it.
- Collect one template per ratio you sell rather than stretching one to fit.
- Neutral, well-lit interiors date more slowly than heavily styled scenes.
- A close-up texture shot of paper or canvas grain earns its place as the last listing image.
Why bulk rendering matters here
Aspect ratio × frame colour × room scene × close-up. A five-ratio poster listing routinely needs 25+ images.
Rendering that by hand is the same six Photoshop steps repeated until the drop is live. PSDmate runs the whole grid as one job, which is the difference between listing a design the day you finish it and listing it next weekend.
Frequently asked questions
What resolution do Etsy wall art prints need?
300 DPI at the printed size for anything up to roughly 24 × 36 in. Above that, 150 DPI is generally accepted because viewing distance increases — but always confirm with your printer before listing.
How many mockups does a wall art listing need?
At minimum: one room scene for scale, one per aspect ratio you sell, and one close-up showing paper or canvas texture. Etsy allows ten images and wall art listings usually benefit from filling them.
Can I use one image for every print size?
No. Different ratios crop differently, and showing a 2:3 image for a 4:5 listing misrepresents what the buyer receives. Render each ratio from its own template.
