The edge is part of the product
Buyers want to know whether the image continues around the sides, mirrors, or sits on a solid colour. Show the edge in at least one image.
Weave texture
Canvas has a coarse surface that mutes fine detail. A texture layer above the artwork sets accurate expectations and avoids complaints about softness.
Depth and shadow
A canvas stands off the wall and casts a shadow. A flat paste onto a wall photo looks like a poster, which undersells a higher-priced product.
Size confusion is expensive
Canvas is bought by size more than any other wall product. A scale reference in the room scene reduces returns directly.

How much bleed does a canvas print need?
Enough to cover the wrap depth plus a safety margin — so a 1.5 in wrap needs at least 1.5 in of extra artwork on every side, and usually a little more. Your printer's template file is the authority.
Should the image wrap around the canvas edge?
It is a product decision you have to show either way. Mirrored wrap, continued image and solid colour edges all sell; leaving buyers to guess does not.
