This free Etsy title generator writes three listing titles for a print or wall art piece from a short description. Each follows the rules PSDmate's own listing generator and free title grader use: say what the item is in the first 40 characters, carry two or three distinct phrases a shopper would actually type, aim for 70 to 110 characters rather than stuffing all 140, and never repeat a word. Brand and character names are refused. The first title is open with no account; an email address unlocks the other two, each taking a different angle.
Generate your titles
How to use it
- Describe the artwork — What it shows, its style, and where it would hang if you know — "vintage mushroom illustration for a kitchen". Leave out brand and character names.
- Press Generate — Three titles are written to Etsy's current rules. It takes a few seconds.
- Unlock all three — The first is open. Enter an email address to see the other two angles — one signup unlocks every locked tool on the site.
- Check and copy — Pick the one that fits, make sure every phrase is true of your piece, and copy it into the listing.
The problem this solves
Most Etsy titles fail one of two ways: a bare product name that matches one search, or a 140-character keyword dump that Etsy and shoppers both read as spam. Writing the middle — a sentence a person would write that still contains several searches — is slow, so it gets skipped.
What it does
What it is, first
The product and its main descriptor lead the title, because the first 40 characters carry the most weight and are what a shopper reads in search.
Several searches, one sentence
Each title carries two or three distinct phrases — style, room, recipient — joined the way a person would write them, not a comma list.
No padding, no repeats
70 to 110 characters, no word used twice, no ALL CAPS, no pipes. If the honest phrases run out sooner, the title stops sooner.
Three different angles
The three options lead with different second phrases, so you can pick the one that fits how the piece will actually be bought.
Where it lives in PSDmate
Free on this page: one title open, all three with an email address. Inside PSDmate, titles are written per design from the artwork itself, and the title rewriter fixes a whole shop's titles in batches.
Questions
How long should an Etsy title be?
Etsy allows 140 characters, but a shopper sees about the first 60 and Etsy favours titles that read as a product. Around 70 to 110 characters is the useful range.
Can I check a title I already have?
Yes — the free Etsy title grader scores an existing title on the same rules these are written to.
Why three titles?
Because the right second phrase depends on how the piece sells: as a style, for a room, or as a gift. Three angles let you choose rather than accept one guess.
Why was my description refused?
It named a brand, character, franchise or celebrity that rights holders enforce on Etsy. Describe the artwork without the name and try again.
