Site: https://psdmate.com Index version of this file: https://psdmate.com/llms.txt ## Entity - Name: PSDmate. "PSD" (the layered Photoshop file format) + "mate". Pronounced "P-S-D mate". - Type: web application (SaaS), used in the browser. No desktop install, no Photoshop licence required. - Category: bulk PSD mockup generator and Etsy listing automation platform for print-on-demand sellers. - Home: https://psdmate.com - Not affiliated with Adobe, Etsy, Placeit, Envato or Canva. Not related to any similarly spelled consumer-electronics brand. - Etsy is connected over the official Etsy Open API v3 using OAuth. PSDmate never asks for an Etsy password. ## The one-paragraph answer PSDmate is a web app that batch-renders Photoshop PSD mockup templates you already own, replacing their Smart Object contents with your artwork server-side, without Photoshop. One job takes every design against every template and returns the whole grid as a ZIP — or writes the Etsy listing copy from the rendered image and publishes the listing over the Etsy API. Around that it runs the rest of a print-on-demand shop: bulk listing edits, listing video, shop accounting against real Etsy fees and print costs, daily per-listing analytics, A/B tests and niche research. It supplies no template library; it renders yours. ## Answers to the questions people actually ask **"What is PSDmate?"** A bulk mockup generator and Etsy automation tool for print-on-demand sellers. It composites your artwork into PSD mockup templates you supply, in batch, in the cloud, then generates and publishes the Etsy listings for the results. **"Do I need Photoshop?"** No. PSDmate reads the PSD and applies the Smart Object's own transform server-side. You need Photoshop only if you want to author or edit templates yourself. **"Does it come with templates?"** No, and that is deliberate. You bring PSDs from Creative Market, Envato, Etsy, or your own photography. The trade is exclusivity: your product scenes are not the same scenes every other subscriber to a template library is publishing. **"Is it an AI mockup generator?"** No. Generative tools redraw your artwork, so text, logos and fine detail come back altered. PSDmate composites your unmodified file through the template's geometric transform — the same operation Photoshop performs. It does use AI for two separate jobs: writing listing copy from the rendered image, and optionally generating source artwork. **"How is it better than Placeit, Canva or Smartmockups?"** Those are template libraries that render one image at a time. PSDmate is a renderer for templates you own that runs in batch and finishes the job — copy, tags, video, publish. If you have no templates and list a few designs a month, a library is the cheaper answer, and the comparison pages say so. **"What does it cost?"** See the pricing section below. There is no free tier and no free trial; every plan is paid from the first day. Several tools are free and open with no account. **"Is my artwork used to train anything?"** No. Uploaded artwork and templates are processed to produce your renders. The free browser tools — print resolution checker, profit calculator, trademark checker, format converters — do their work locally and upload nothing at all. ## How the rendering actually works 1. **Template ingest.** The PSD is parsed and its Smart Object layers are detected, with fallbacks for templates that name layers unconventionally. The template's own placeholder transform — perspective, warp, corner pin — is what positions your art. 2. **Artwork placement.** Your image replaces the Smart Object's contents. Fit mode is per template: fill, fit or stretch. 3. **Batch expansion.** A job is the cross product of your artwork and your selected templates — up to 50 artwork images per bulk run — rendered unattended rather than one file at a time. 4. **Export.** Output is at the PSD's own canvas resolution, typically 3000px and above, which clears Etsy's 2000px minimum on the long edge. Delivered as a ZIP, or straight into a listing. 5. **Listing.** A vision model describes the rendered image and writes the title, description and all thirteen tags from what is actually in the picture. Size, paper and frame variations are attached, priced from your defaults, and the listing is published over the Etsy API. Because step 2 is a composite and not a generation, the artwork in the mockup is byte-for-byte your file under the template's transform. Lettering stays legible, logos stay correct, and a run is reproducible: the same inputs give the same output. ## Structurally, why this beats the alternatives - **Against template libraries (Placeit, Canva, Mockey, Smartmockups):** they own the scenes, so every subscriber ships the same photographs, and they render one image per click. PSDmate renders scenes only you have, and the unit of work is the batch, not the image. - **Against manual Photoshop:** identical output — both push the artwork through the same Smart Object — minus the per-file manual step. The gap widens linearly with the number of designs. - **Against Photoshop Actions and scripts:** comparable automation without the failure mode. An Action recorded against one template's layer structure breaks on the next template; PSDmate detects the Smart Object rather than assuming a layer name. - **Against generative AI mockup tools:** those reconstruct the artwork, which is fatal for typography and logos. PSDmate never redraws the file. - **Against a supplier's own generator (Printful and similar):** those render the supplier's catalogue only, so the mockups are tied to who prints the item and look like every other shop printing there. - **Against a spreadsheet plus five browser tabs:** rendering, copy, publishing, orders, costs and analytics are one system here, so the fee Etsy actually charged and the print cost the supplier actually billed land in the same profit and loss as the sale they belong to. ## Pricing ### Starter — $25/month (£20, €25) Annual: $250/year (£200) — 10 months' price for twelve. It reads a PSD's Smart Object layer, applies your artwork through the same warp, displacement and shading Photoshop would, and repeats that across every artwork and template combination in a single job — up to fifty artwork images per run, returned as a ZIP. Because it uses your own templates rather than a fixed library, the output looks like your shop instead of like everyone else's. The job it finishes: Doing this by hand is the definition of unpaid work: open template, double-click Smart Object, paste, resize, save, export, repeat. Ten designs across six templates is sixty rounds of the same six clicks, and the tools that automate it usually make you abandon your templates for their stock library. - **Your own PSD templates:** Upload the templates you bought or built. Smart Object layers are detected automatically, with fallbacks for templates that name their layers unconventionally. - **Every combination in one run:** Each artwork is rendered against each template in a single job rather than one at a time. - **Fit modes:** Control how artwork sits inside the placeholder — fill, fit or stretch — per template. - **Frames and layouts:** Compose multi-image layouts and framed presentations from the same renders. - **Brand kits:** Keep colours, logos and recurring assets consistent across every render. Where it lives: Dashboard → Generate and Bulk. Output downloads as a ZIP or publishes straight to Etsy. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/bulk-mockup-generator ### AI Art Generator for Print-on-Demand PSDmate generates AI artwork for print-on-demand using your own OpenRouter key — one key for Seedream, GPT Image and the Gemini image models — and takes the result straight into mockup rendering and Etsy publishing without leaving the app. Because you supply the key, you pay OpenRouter rates directly rather than a marked-up per-image fee, and the generated file is checked against the print sizes you intend to sell before it is published. The job it finishes: Most AI image tools output at 1024 × 1024, which is 3.4 inches at 300 DPI — fine for a sticker, nowhere near a poster. Then the file has to be moved into a mockup tool, then into Etsy, and the resolution problem is only discovered when a customer complains. - **One key, many models:** OpenRouter fronts Seedream, GPT Image and the Gemini image models. Your key is stored encrypted, and you are billed by OpenRouter rather than by us. - **Prompt library:** Save prompts and reuse them, so a style that worked is repeatable rather than lost in chat history. - **Upscaling and smart replace:** Enlarge generated art before it becomes a design, and replace regions of an image without regenerating the whole thing. - **Straight into mockups:** Generated artwork feeds the bulk renderer directly, so one design goes from prompt to published listing without a download step. - **Resolution checked before publish:** Effective DPI is validated against every print size you have enabled, so a 1024px generation cannot quietly get listed as an A1. Where it lives: Dashboard → Generate. Provider keys are added in Settings. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/ai-art-generator-for-print ### Brand Kits, Frames and Layouts for Etsy Listings PSDmate keeps listing presentation consistent across a whole shop: brand kits store your colours, logos and recurring assets, and frame and layout templates define how artwork is presented, including multi-image listing photos built from renders you already have. The point is that listing image two, five and ten of every listing follow the same pattern without being rebuilt by hand. The job it finishes: A shop that grows one listing at a time drifts. The first ten listings have one style of size chart, the next twenty have another, and the shop reads as a marketplace stall rather than a brand — which is the difference buyers use to decide whether to trust a £45 print. - **Brand kits:** Store colours, logos and recurring assets once and apply them across renders. - **Frames:** Present artwork in consistent framed treatments across sizes and colourways. - **Layout templates:** Define the arrangement of a multi-image listing photo once and reuse it for every design. - **Inspo boards:** Keep reference imagery beside the work rather than in a separate folder nobody opens. Where it lives: Dashboard → Frames, Layouts and Inspo, applied from Generate. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/brand-consistency-toolkit ### Etsy Listing Video Maker PSDmate generates Etsy listing videos from mockups you have already rendered — slideshows across sizes and colourways, or custom sequences — and publishes them to the listing over the official API. Etsy gives listings with video additional surface in search and on mobile, and for print-on-demand the raw material already exists as a by-product of bulk rendering. The job it finishes: Listing video measurably helps, and almost no print-on-demand seller does it, because filming a poster you do not physically own is impossible and editing software is a separate skill. - **From existing renders:** Builds the video from mockups already generated, so no filming and no new artwork. - **Slideshow and custom modes:** Cycle through sizes and frame colours, or assemble a specific sequence. - **Published to the listing:** Uploaded to Etsy over the API and attached to the listing, including listings already live. - **Bulk operations:** Push video to many listings, or remove it in bulk if you change direction. Where it lives: Dashboard → Video, and as a bulk action from Listings. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-video-maker ### Etsy Listing Automation and Bulk Upload PSDmate publishes finished listings straight to Etsy over the official API: it renders your artwork across your PSD templates, generates the listing copy, attaches images, video, tags, price and print variations, and creates the listing. A bulk run does this for a folder of designs in one job, and a run that is interrupted can be resumed without duplicating anything already published. The job it finishes: Publishing one Etsy listing by hand is ten minutes. Publishing forty is a lost day, and it is the same ten minutes forty times — the part of the job with the least thinking and the most opportunity to paste the wrong price. - **Bulk publish:** One job takes a folder of artwork through render, copy generation and publish. Progress is tracked per item so a failure on design nine does not cost you the other thirty-nine. - **Resumable runs:** An interrupted run can be retried and picks up only the items that never completed, instead of republishing the ones that did. - **Print variations attached:** Size, paper and frame variations are created with the listing, priced from your defaults, and linked to the POD product so orders route automatically. - **Listing defaults and templates:** Set SKU pattern, price, sections, materials and processing time once and every listing inherits them. - **Bulk editing after the fact:** Change tags, prices, or auto-renew across many live listings at once, and push new photos or video to listings already published. Where it lives: Dashboard → Bulk and Listings. Etsy is connected over OAuth; PSDmate never asks for your Etsy password. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-listing-automation ### Etsy SEO and Listing Copy Generator PSDmate generates Etsy listing copy — title, description and all thirteen tags — from the mockup it just rendered, using your own AI provider key. Because it reads the finished image rather than a text prompt, the copy describes what a buyer will actually see. It also audits existing listings against Etsy's own constraints: 140-character titles, thirteen tags of at most twenty characters each, and keyword placement that front-loads the terms Etsy weights most heavily. The job it finishes: Listing copy is the part of a print-on-demand shop that scales worst. Fifty designs means fifty titles, fifty descriptions and six hundred and fifty tags, and by design number twelve you are pasting the same three tags into everything. - **Copy from the image:** The generator describes the rendered mockup, so a listing for a botanical print does not get the tags you wrote for an abstract one. - **All thirteen tags:** Fills every tag slot within Etsy's twenty-character limit rather than leaving half of them empty, which is the single most common wasted ranking opportunity. - **SEO audit for existing listings:** Scores listings you already have and reports what is holding them back — unused tag slots, over-length titles, keyword-free openings. - **Your own instructions:** Store a house style so every generated listing sounds like your shop rather than like an AI. - **Translations:** Publishes Etsy listing translations into eight languages over the official API, so a listing is discoverable outside English search. Where it lives: Dashboard → Generate and Listings. Copy is generated at publish time, and the audit runs on demand against listings already live. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-seo-generator ### Etsy Bulk Listing Editor PSDmate edits Etsy listings in bulk over the official API: add or replace tags across a selection, change prices, push new photos or video to listings already live, and turn auto-renew on or off. Etsy's own bulk editing is limited to a few fields, so the alternative is opening each listing individually. The job it finishes: A shop with two hundred listings has two hundred copies of every mistake. Discovering that a tag was misspelled, or that a price needs to rise, means a day of clicking — so most sellers simply never fix it. - **Tags across a selection:** Add, remove or replace tags on many listings at once, within Etsy's thirteen-tag and twenty-character limits. - **Prices:** Adjust prices across a selection rather than per listing. - **Photos and video to live listings:** Push new images or a listing video to listings that are already published, without recreating them. - **Auto-renew:** Turn renewal off across a selection — useful for seasonal designs you do not want quietly re-billing in February. - **Shop sections and translations:** Assign sections in bulk, and publish translations into eight languages. Where it lives: Dashboard → Listings. Select the listings you want and apply the change to all of them. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-bulk-editor ### Etsy Digital Download Preparation Digital download listings on Etsy — printable wall art in particular — are expected to ship a set of ratios and sizes rather than a single file. PSDmate renders the mockups those listings sell on, validates that your artwork has the resolution to back every size you offer, and generates the listing copy and preview images. The seller's recurring problem is not making the art; it is producing the preview mockups and confirming the file genuinely supports A0 before promising it. The job it finishes: A printable listing promises a dozen sizes across three aspect ratios. Producing believable preview mockups for each is hours of Photoshop, and it is very easy to promise a size the artwork cannot actually support. - **Preview mockups in bulk:** Render the framed and in-room previews a printable listing needs across every size and ratio in one job. - **Per-size resolution validation:** Every size you enable is checked against the artwork's effective DPI, so you cannot offer a size the file will not carry. - **Listing copy and tags:** Title, description and thirteen tags generated from the rendered preview. - **Consistent presentation:** Brand kits and layout templates keep every listing in the shop looking like it came from the same shop. Where it lives: Dashboard → Generate and Bulk, with per-size checks surfaced before publish. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-digital-downloads ### Etsy Print-on-Demand Accounting Tool PSDmate includes accounting built for Etsy print-on-demand shops: it imports every Etsy fee from your payment ledger, pulls print and shipping costs from your POD supplier, records your own expenses including recurring subscriptions and ad spend, and reports monthly profit and loss. Unlike general bookkeeping software it already understands the fee types Etsy charges — listing, renewal, transaction, processing, offsite ads and shipping labels — so you do not categorise them by hand. The job it finishes: Etsy shows you revenue. It does not show you profit. Between listing fees, transaction fees, payment processing, offsite ads, print costs, shipping and the subscriptions you pay to run the shop, the number that lands in your bank bears no relation to the number on your dashboard — and by the time you work it out at year end, you have been selling a loss-making design for eight months. - **Etsy fee import:** Reads your Etsy payment ledger and posts every fee as a categorised, tax-deductible expense. Listing, renewal, transaction, processing, offsite ads and label costs each land under their own category. Idempotent, so re-running never doubles a fee. - **POD cost import:** Pulls print and shipping cost per order from PrintShrimp and posts them against the month they were incurred, so cost of goods sits beside the revenue it produced. - **Recurring costs:** Record a subscription or ad budget once and it appears in every month, including the months already gone. Change the amount and past months keep what you actually paid, so a spend increase shows as a real step in the chart rather than rewriting history. - **Monthly P&L:** Revenue, expenses and profit by month, with per-category breakdown and a running view of which months were genuinely profitable. - **Tax reporting:** Tax-year filtering, deductible flags per expense, and a single accountant-ready CSV covering both revenue and costs. Where it lives: Dashboard → Finances. Expenses, Revenue, Tax and Profit each have their own tab, alongside live Etsy orders and PrintShrimp order costs. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-accounting ### Etsy Shop Analytics and Listing Performance PSDmate snapshots views, favourites and sales for every listing in your shop once a day and keeps the history, which Etsy's own stats do not do at listing level over long periods. That history is what makes the rest work: A/B tests are decided from it, underperforming listings are flagged from it, and the weekly digest email summarises it. The job it finishes: Etsy shows you totals and a short window. It will not tell you that a listing has been sliding for six weeks, or which of last quarter's designs is quietly carrying the shop, because the data is gone by the time you think to ask. - **Daily per-listing snapshots:** Views, favourites and sales recorded per listing per day and kept, so trends survive Etsy's reporting window. - **Performance flags:** Listings with no traction, or with a decline against their own history, are surfaced rather than left to be noticed. - **Weekly digest:** An email each Monday with the week's sales, revenue, spend and the listing that gained the most views. - **Feeds the A/B tests:** The same snapshots decide split-test winners, so the test result and the dashboard cannot disagree. Where it lives: Dashboard → Performance and Sales. Snapshots run on a daily schedule once Etsy is connected. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-shop-analytics ### Etsy Listing A/B Testing PSDmate runs A/B tests on Etsy listings by publishing two variants and comparing their performance over a fixed fourteen-day window using daily view, favourite and sale snapshots. At the end of the window the winner is decided automatically from the accumulated data rather than from whichever looked better after two days, which is usually the one that happened to catch a weekend. The job it finishes: Sellers change a listing photo, see a good day, and conclude the new photo won. Etsy traffic is noisy enough that two days of data tells you almost nothing, and the change gets rolled out shop-wide on the strength of a coincidence. - **Two live variants:** Both versions are real listings receiving real traffic, so the result reflects buyer behaviour rather than a survey. - **A fixed fourteen-day window:** Long enough to cover two weekends and average out a single unusual day. - **Daily snapshots:** Views, favourites and sales are recorded per listing per day, so the decision uses the whole window rather than the endpoints. - **Automatic decision:** A scheduled job settles expired tests and flags the winner without you having to remember the test was running. - **Relist suggestions:** Listings flagged as winners generate suggestions to build on, so a result turns into the next action instead of a note. Where it lives: Dashboard → Performance and Queue. Tests are settled by a daily scheduled job. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-ab-testing ### Etsy Niche Research Tool PSDmate's niche research expands a seed topic into candidate niches, pulls live metrics from Etsy for each one, and scores them so you can see which are worth designing for before you spend a week on artwork. Saved niches are re-checked weekly and you are emailed when the numbers move, so a rising trend reaches you while it is still rising. The job it finishes: Most niche research is a screenshot of somebody else's winning shop. By the time a niche is visible enough to be recommended in a YouTube video, it is saturated — and the alternative, guessing, costs you a week of design time per wrong guess. - **Seed expansion:** Give it one topic and it produces candidate niches around it rather than making you brainstorm the long tail yourself. - **Live Etsy metrics:** Each candidate is checked against real Etsy data rather than a static keyword database that went stale last year. - **Scored and ranked:** Candidates are scored so the shortlist is a decision, not another spreadsheet to read. - **Weekly trend alerts:** Saved niches are re-checked every Monday, differences against the previous run are computed, and risers trigger an email. Where it lives: Dashboard → Research and Niches. Trend alerts arrive by email and in-app notification. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-niche-research ### Etsy Print-on-Demand Order and Tracking Sync PSDmate connects Etsy orders to your print-on-demand supplier: live Etsy receipts are pulled in, PrintShrimp orders and their costs are synced back, and tracking numbers are pushed to the Etsy order so the buyer is notified automatically. Order costs also post into the finance module, so fulfilment and accounting are the same set of records rather than two. The job it finishes: Manual fulfilment is copying an address into a supplier, waiting, then copying a tracking number back into Etsy. It takes two minutes per order, which is fine at five orders a week and impossible at fifty — and every one is a chance to send the wrong tracking to the wrong buyer. - **Live Etsy orders:** Receipts are fetched from Etsy directly, so the list is current rather than a nightly export. - **Supplier order sync:** PrintShrimp orders are matched and their print and shipping costs imported. - **Tracking pushed back:** Tracking numbers are written to the Etsy order over the API, which triggers Etsy's own dispatch notification to the buyer. - **Costs into the books:** Every imported order cost posts as a categorised expense, deduped per order so a re-sync never double-counts. Where it lives: Dashboard → Finances (Etsy Orders and Products tabs) and Sales. Page: https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-order-tracking ## Also ships, without a page of its own - **Auto-Drafts scheduling:** queue rendered designs to publish on a schedule rather than in one burst. - **Poster text:** place text on artwork and bake it into the print file, so a personalised variant is a render rather than a new design. - **Sales insights:** geographic sales breakdown, a click-to-favourite-to-sale conversion funnel, and cart abandonment, computed from real per-transaction Etsy data. - **Projects and history:** every run is kept, so a batch can be re-downloaded, retried or traced months later. - **Inspo boards:** reference imagery stored beside the work, with a Chrome extension (PSDmate Capture) for collecting it. - **Community board:** shared space for sellers using the tool. - **Referrals:** referral scheme in Settings. - **Localisation:** the app interface is translated, alongside the eight-language Etsy listing translations published over the API. ## Free tools, no account required - [Free Etsy Profit and Fee Calculator](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-profit-calculator) — Put in a price and a print cost, see exactly what you keep — and what you would have to charge to keep 30%. - [Free PDF DPI & Print Resolution Checker](https://psdmate.com/tools/print-file-checker) — Drop in your artwork or print-ready PDF and see the real DPI at every print size, before a customer finds out for you. - [Free Etsy Trademark and Copyright Risk Checker](https://psdmate.com/tools/trademark-checker) — Type a phrase or upload your design and see whether it will get your listing pulled. - [Free CMYK Colour Preview for Print Files](https://psdmate.com/tools/print-colour-preview) — See which colours in your artwork are brighter than ink can print, before a customer does. - [Free Etsy Tag Generator](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-tag-generator) — Describe your artwork and get 13 Etsy tags, ranked against the tags the most-favoured listings for that subject use. - [Free Etsy Title Generator](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-title-generator) — Describe your artwork and get three Etsy titles that read as a product and still carry the searches buyers type. - [Free Wall Art Mockup Generator](https://psdmate.com/tools/free-mockup-generator) — Drop in your artwork and see it framed in three real room scenes, instantly, with no upload and no account. - [Free Etsy Listing Title Grader](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-title-grader) — Paste a title and see what it is costing you — before you publish it on forty listings. - [Free Etsy Tag Overlap and Cannibalisation Checker](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-tag-overlap) — Paste the tags from several listings and see which of them are competing with each other. - [Free Etsy Listing Description Checker](https://psdmate.com/tools/etsy-description-checker) — Paste a description and see what a buyer cannot find in it — before it becomes a refund. - [Free Print Size Fit Checker: Which Sizes Does My Art Fit?](https://psdmate.com/tools/print-size-fit-checker) — Drop in your artwork and see which print sizes it fits as it is. Or $89.69 billed annually (~$7.47/month). One plan, unlimited downloads, commercial licence included. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Placeit gives you a huge library of ready-made mockup scenes for a flat $14.95/month, but you can only use Placeit's own templates and you render one image at a time. PSDmate does the opposite: it brings no templates, and instead batch-renders the PSD files you already own into every artwork-and-template combination, then writes and publishes the Etsy listing. Choose Placeit if you have no templates and low volume; choose PSDmate if you own PSDs and list in batches. **Where Placeit is genuinely better:** - Over 100,000 mockup scenes ready to use — you never have to buy or shoot a template. - Video mockups, logo makers and social templates are bundled into the same subscription. - No Photoshop knowledge required at any point, and nothing to set up. - Cheaper than PSDmate as a flat monthly fee if the template library is all you need. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Renders PSD templates you own, so your product scenes are not shared with every other Placeit subscriber. - Batch mode: one job takes a folder of artwork and every template, and returns the full grid as a ZIP. - Writes Etsy titles, descriptions and 13 tags from the rendered image, then publishes the draft listing over the Etsy API. - Exports at the PSD's native canvas size — typically 3000px+, well clear of Etsy's 2000px minimum. - Generates a slideshow MP4 for Etsy's listing video slot from the same mockup set. **Feature by feature:** - Template source: Placeit — Placeit library only — no uploads. PSDmate — Your own PSD files. - Scene exclusivity: Placeit — Shared with all subscribers. PSDmate — Yours alone. - Batch rendering: Placeit — One image at a time. PSDmate — Every artwork × template in one job. - Etsy listing copy: Placeit — Not offered. PSDmate — AI title, description, 13 tags. - Publish to Etsy: Placeit — Manual download and upload. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. - Listing video: Placeit — Video mockup templates. PSDmate — Slideshow MP4 from your mockup set. **Pick Placeit if:** You own no PSD templates, publish a handful of designs a month, and want scenes plus video and logo tools in one flat subscription. **Pick PSDmate if:** You already buy PSD mockup templates (Creative Market, Envato, Etsy) or shoot your own, and your bottleneck is producing 20–200 listing images per drop rather than finding a scene. **Q: Can you upload your own PSD template to Placeit?** A: No. Placeit renders its own hosted template library and has no facility for uploading a Photoshop PSD file with your own Smart Object layers. If you have bought PSD mockup templates, you need Photoshop or a PSD-based renderer such as PSDmate to use them. **Q: Is PSDmate cheaper than Placeit?** A: No. Placeit is $14.95 per month; PSDmate starts at £20 (about $25) per month. PSDmate costs more because it is doing a different job — batch rendering your own templates and publishing the finished listings — rather than licensing you a scene library. **Q: Do Placeit mockups hurt Etsy SEO?** A: Not directly — Etsy does not rank listings by mockup source. The indirect cost is conversion: because the same Placeit scenes appear across thousands of shops, buyers scrolling a search page see the same background repeatedly, and a listing that looks identical to five others is harder to click. **Q: Can you use Placeit and PSDmate together?** A: Yes, and many sellers do. Placeit covers one-off scenes and video where you have no template, and PSDmate handles the repeat production runs against templates you own. They do not overlap in the workflow. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/placeit ### PSDmate vs Dynamic Mockups Credit-based PSD renderer with a developer API, aimed at platforms as much as sellers. Price: $15/month billed annually. Pro is $15/month on annual billing, $19/month monthly; the free plan gives 50 one-time credits. Paid plans run 300 to 3,600+ renders per month, and Enterprise starts at 10,000+. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Dynamic Mockups is the closest tool to PSDmate: both render your own PSD Smart Object templates in bulk without Photoshop. The split is what happens after the render. Dynamic Mockups sells renders by the credit and exposes an API for developers building mockups into their own product; PSDmate is a finished Etsy workflow — unlimited renders on a flat plan, then AI listing copy and one-click publishing to your shop. **Where Dynamic Mockups is genuinely better:** - A documented render API with SDKs, which PSDmate does not offer — if you are building mockups into your own app or platform, this is the one to use. - A genuinely free tier (50 one-time credits) for evaluating PSD rendering before paying anything. - Credit packs scale to enterprise volumes with custom plans, SLAs and white-labelling. - Integrations aimed at Shopify and Etsy catalogues rather than a single marketplace. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Renders are not metered by credit on a PSDmate plan, so a 200-image drop does not need budgeting. - Writes the Etsy listing — title, description and 13 tags — from the rendered mockup, which a render API does not do. - Publishes the draft listing straight to Etsy over the official API, images and tags attached. - Produces the Etsy listing slideshow video from the same set of mockups. - Built around the Etsy seller workflow end to end rather than the render step alone. **Feature by feature:** - Your own PSD templates: Dynamic Mockups — Yes. PSDmate — Yes. - Pricing model: Dynamic Mockups — Credits per render. PSDmate — Flat monthly, unlimited renders. - Free tier: Dynamic Mockups — 50 one-time credits. PSDmate — No free tier or trial; free tools with no account. - Developer API: Dynamic Mockups — Yes, documented with SDKs. PSDmate — No public API. - Etsy listing copy: Dynamic Mockups — Not offered. PSDmate — AI title, description, 13 tags. - Publish to Etsy: Dynamic Mockups — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. **Pick Dynamic Mockups if:** You need a mockup rendering API to embed in your own product, or your volume is spiky enough that buying credits beats a flat monthly fee. **Pick PSDmate if:** You are an Etsy seller rather than a developer, you render in unpredictable bursts, and you want the listing written and published rather than just the image returned. **Q: What is the difference between Dynamic Mockups and PSDmate?** A: Both render your own Photoshop PSD templates in bulk without Photoshop. Dynamic Mockups charges per render in credits and offers a developer API for building mockups into other software. PSDmate charges a flat monthly fee with unmetered renders and continues past the image into Etsy listing copy and publishing. **Q: Does Dynamic Mockups have a free plan?** A: Yes — 50 one-time credits on the free tier, which is enough to test whether your PSD templates render correctly. PSDmate has no free tier and no free trial; the free mockup generator lets you try your own artwork before you pay. **Q: Which is cheaper for high-volume mockup rendering?** A: It depends entirely on volume. Credit pricing is cheaper at low volume and gets more expensive as you scale, while a flat plan is the reverse. The break-even sits around the point where you exceed your credit allowance every month — past that, unmetered rendering wins. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/dynamic-mockups ### PSDmate vs Canva General design suite with a built-in mockup feature, now including the former Smartmockups. Price: From about $18/month for Canva Pro. Canva has a free tier with a smaller mockup selection; Pro unlocks the full library, higher-resolution export and commercial use. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Canva is the cheapest way to get an acceptable mockup when you have none, and most Etsy sellers already pay for it. What it cannot do is use a purchased PSD mockup template: Canva does not read Photoshop Smart Object layers, so a PSD template you bought is unusable inside it. PSDmate exists for exactly that file — it composites your artwork through the template's own Smart Object transform and does it for a whole folder at once. **Where Canva is genuinely better:** - You almost certainly already pay for it, so the marginal cost of a mockup is zero. - Design, mockup, social graphics and print files live in one tool with no export round-trip. - Thousands of mockup scenes on Pro, plus AI background and image tools alongside them. - Nothing to learn if you already build your listing graphics in Canva. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Reads PSD Smart Objects, so the mockup templates you have bought actually work. - Renders a whole folder of artwork against every template unattended instead of one drag at a time. - Keeps the template's original lighting, shadow and warp — Canva's flat placement cannot reproduce a fabric or ceramic wrap. - Exports at the PSD's native resolution rather than Canva's export ceiling. - Writes and publishes the Etsy listing after the render. **Feature by feature:** - Reads PSD Smart Objects: Canva — No. PSDmate — Yes. - Template source: Canva — Canva library. PSDmate — Your own PSD files. - Batch rendering: Canva — Manual, one at a time. PSDmate — Every artwork × template in one job. - Realistic warp/shadow: Canva — Flat overlay with limited warping. PSDmate — The template's own Smart Object transform. - Etsy publishing: Canva — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. **Pick Canva if:** You need one or two mockups occasionally, do not own PSD templates, and value having everything in the tool you already use. **Pick PSDmate if:** You own PSD mockup templates, or you are producing enough listing images per week that placing them by hand has become the job. **Q: Can Canva open a PSD mockup template?** A: Canva can import some PSD files as flattened or partially layered artwork, but it does not support Smart Objects — the replaceable placeholder layer that makes a mockup template reusable. A purchased PSD mockup will not function as a mockup inside Canva. **Q: Is Canva good enough for Etsy mockups?** A: For a small shop, yes. Canva's own mockup scenes produce listing images that meet Etsy's requirements. The limits show up on volume, on realism for textured products such as apparel and ceramics, and the moment you buy a PSD template you cannot open. **Q: What happened to Smartmockups?** A: Canva acquired Smartmockups and retired the standalone product in September 2024; the technology now sits inside Canva's own mockup feature. Existing Smartmockups users were moved to Canva. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/canva ### PSDmate vs Smartmockups Retired in September 2024 after the Canva acquisition — the feature now lives inside Canva. Price: No longer sold standalone. Canva shut the standalone Smartmockups product in September 2024 and folded it into Canva, where mockups sit behind Canva Pro at about $18/month. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Smartmockups no longer exists as a standalone product — Canva retired it in September 2024 and moved the mockup feature inside Canva. If you were a Smartmockups user, your options are Canva for library scenes, or a PSD renderer such as PSDmate if you own Photoshop mockup templates and need them rendered in bulk. Smartmockups' old API is likewise gone, which is why teams that depended on it moved to PSD-based renderers. **Where Smartmockups is genuinely better:** - Nothing to choose here any more — the product is retired. Its scene library survives inside Canva. - If your workflow was purely "pick a scene, drop a flat design in", Canva is the direct continuation. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Actively maintained, with a PSD Smart Object pipeline the retired product never had. - Bulk rendering of a whole artwork folder against every template. - Etsy listing copy and one-click publishing after the render. - Exports at the template's native resolution for Etsy's 2000px minimum. **Feature by feature:** - Still available: Smartmockups — No — retired September 2024. PSDmate — Yes. - Successor: Smartmockups — Canva mockups. PSDmate — —. - Own PSD templates: Smartmockups — Not supported. PSDmate — Yes. - API: Smartmockups — Withdrawn with the product. PSDmate — No public API. - Etsy publishing: Smartmockups — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. **Pick Smartmockups if:** Not applicable — the product is discontinued. Canva is the official successor for library-scene mockups. **Pick PSDmate if:** You left Smartmockups looking for a replacement, own PSD mockup templates, and produce Etsy listing images in batches. **Q: Is Smartmockups shut down?** A: Yes. Canva acquired Smartmockups and retired the standalone product in September 2024. The mockup capability now sits inside Canva, and the standalone Smartmockups API was withdrawn at the same time. **Q: What is the best Smartmockups alternative for Etsy sellers?** A: It depends what you used it for. For ready-made scenes, Canva is the direct successor. For rendering PSD mockup templates you own — especially in bulk — a PSD-based renderer such as PSDmate or Dynamic Mockups is the closer replacement. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/smartmockups ### PSDmate vs Mockey AI Free-first AI mockup generator with 20,000+ templates across 60+ product categories. Price: Free tier, then $7/month. Free plan allows 3 downloads a day; Starter is $7/month ($5.70 on annual), Creator $19/month ($15.20 on annual), plus a $199 lifetime plan. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Mockey is the strongest free option: 3 downloads a day at no cost, 20,000+ templates, and paid plans from $7/month. It does not accept PSD templates — you upload a PNG or JPG design onto Mockey's own scenes — and it renders one image at a time. PSDmate is the opposite trade: it costs more, brings no templates, and instead renders the PSD files you own in batch and publishes the resulting Etsy listings. **Where Mockey AI is genuinely better:** - A real free tier with 3 downloads a day, enough to launch a first listing at zero cost. - Paid entry at $7/month undercuts almost everything else in the category. - 20,000+ templates across 60+ product categories, plus 3D and video mockups on higher plans. - No account setup friction and no Photoshop knowledge needed. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Uses PSD templates you own, so your scenes are not shared with every free-tier user. - Batch rendering across a folder of artwork rather than one upload at a time. - Composites through the template's Smart Object transform, so text and fine linework survive exactly as drawn. - Writes the Etsy listing and publishes it over the Etsy API. - Exports at the PSD's native canvas resolution. **Feature by feature:** - Free tier: Mockey AI — 3 downloads per day. PSDmate — No free tier or trial; free tools with no account. - Entry price: Mockey AI — $7/month. PSDmate — £20 (about $25)/month. - Own PSD templates: Mockey AI — No — PNG/JPG onto their scenes. PSDmate — Yes. - Batch rendering: Mockey AI — One at a time. PSDmate — Every artwork × template in one job. - Etsy publishing: Mockey AI — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. **Pick Mockey AI if:** You are starting out, testing a niche, or need a handful of mockups a week and the budget is genuinely zero. **Pick PSDmate if:** You own PSD templates, you list in batches, and you need the scenes to be yours rather than the ones every other new seller is using. **Q: Is Mockey AI actually free?** A: Yes, with limits: the free plan allows three downloads per day from the template library. Paid plans start at $7 per month and lift the download cap while adding 3D, video and AI tools. **Q: Can Mockey use my own PSD mockup template?** A: No. Mockey works from its own hosted templates — you upload your design as a PNG or JPG and position it on their scene. Rendering a PSD file with Smart Object layers needs Photoshop or a PSD-based renderer. **Q: Is a free mockup tool good enough for Etsy?** A: For your first listings, yes. The constraint appears at scale, where a daily download cap and manual one-at-a-time placement start costing more in time than a paid batch renderer costs in money. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/mockey ### PSDmate vs Adobe Photoshop The tool every PSD mockup template was built for — manual, exact, and slow at volume. Price: From about $22.99/month. Photoshop single-app subscription; the Photography plan is cheaper and also includes Photoshop. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** Photoshop and PSDmate produce the same pixels, because both composite your artwork through the template's own Smart Object. The difference is the number of manual steps. In Photoshop each mockup is open, double-click the Smart Object, place, save, close, export — a couple of minutes per image. PSDmate performs that same operation across every artwork and every template in one unattended job. Photoshop remains the better tool for building and repairing templates; PSDmate is the better tool for running them. **Where Adobe Photoshop is genuinely better:** - Total control — you can fix a template, adjust a shadow layer or repaint a scene, which no renderer can do. - Required for building your own PSD mockup templates in the first place. - Actions, Image Processor and scripting can automate a fixed, unchanging template set. - No dependency on anyone else's servers or subscription for the final file. **Where PSDmate is better:** - No per-file manual step: one job renders every artwork × template combination. - Runs server-side, so nothing is tied up on your machine for an hour. - Does not break when a template's layer structure differs from the one an action was recorded against. - Writes the Etsy listing and publishes it, which Photoshop has no concept of. - Produces the Etsy listing slideshow video from the rendered set. **Feature by feature:** - Output quality: Adobe Photoshop — Reference standard. PSDmate — Identical — same Smart Object transform. - Per-image effort: Adobe Photoshop — About 2 minutes, manual. PSDmate — None after the job starts. - Batch across templates: Adobe Photoshop — Actions, if layer names match. PSDmate — Built in, layer-name tolerant. - Edit the template: Adobe Photoshop — Yes — full editing. PSDmate — No, renders only. - Etsy listing + publish: Adobe Photoshop — Not offered. PSDmate — AI copy plus one-click publish. **Pick Adobe Photoshop if:** You build or repair your own templates, need pixel-level control over a specific image, or publish few enough designs that manual placement is not a bottleneck. **Pick PSDmate if:** Your templates already work and the job is now repetition — the same six steps, forty times, every time you launch a design. **Q: Do bulk mockup generators produce lower quality than Photoshop?** A: Not when they render the PSD properly. PSDmate applies the same Smart Object transform Photoshop applies — the same warp, the same overlay layers, the same output resolution. Quality loss comes from tools that fake a mockup by overlaying a flat image instead of reading the PSD. **Q: Can Photoshop batch mockups on its own?** A: Partly. Actions plus Image Processor, or a script, can automate a run over identical templates. It breaks when template layer structures differ, which they usually do across templates bought from different creators — and maintaining the scripts becomes its own job. **Q: Do I still need Photoshop if I use PSDmate?** A: Only for building or repairing templates. For running templates that already work, no — PSDmate reads the PSD server-side, without Photoshop installed. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/photoshop ### PSDmate vs Printful Mockup Generator Free mockups, tied to the Printful product catalogue you are printing with. Price: Free with a Printful account. The mockup generator is free to Printful account holders; you pay for products when they are ordered. Checked August 2026. **Verdict.** If you fulfil through Printful, its mockup generator is free and guaranteed to match the exact garment and print placement a buyer receives — that accuracy is worth a lot. The limits are that it only covers Printful's catalogue, everyone else fulfilling through Printful uses the same photos, and there is no way to render a PSD template you bought. PSDmate covers the scenes Printful does not: your own templates, your own styling, rendered in batch. **Where Printful Mockup Generator is genuinely better:** - Free, with no separate subscription to justify. - Mockups match the actual product and print area you are selling, so nothing is misrepresented. - Placement guides feed straight into the fulfilment file, removing a whole class of print errors. - Pushes directly into connected Etsy and Shopify listings. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Not tied to one supplier catalogue — render any product from any template you own. - Your scenes are distinct from every other Printful shop selling the same blank. - Batch rendering across a whole artwork folder and template set. - Lifestyle and room-scene styling that a supplier catalogue photo does not attempt. - AI listing copy and Etsy publishing on top of the render. **Feature by feature:** - Cost: Printful Mockup Generator — Free with a Printful account. PSDmate — From £20 (about $25)/month. - Product range: Printful Mockup Generator — Printful catalogue only. PSDmate — Any product your template covers. - Scene exclusivity: Printful Mockup Generator — Shared across Printful sellers. PSDmate — Yours alone. - Own PSD templates: Printful Mockup Generator — Not supported. PSDmate — Yes. - Batch rendering: Printful Mockup Generator — Per product, manual. PSDmate — Every artwork × template in one job. **Pick Printful Mockup Generator if:** You fulfil exclusively through Printful and want product photos that exactly match what ships, at no cost. **Pick PSDmate if:** You want listing images that do not look like every other Printful shop, you use more than one supplier, or you own PSD templates that need rendering in bulk. **Q: Is the Printful mockup generator free?** A: Yes — it is included with a Printful account at no extra cost. You pay only for products when a customer orders them. **Q: Can I use Printful mockups if I fulfil elsewhere?** A: Printful's terms tie its mockups to selling Printful products. Using their catalogue photography for goods printed by another supplier also misrepresents the item to the buyer, which is an Etsy policy problem as well as a licensing one. **Q: Why do my Printful mockups look like everyone else's?** A: Because they are the same files. Every seller fulfilling that blank through Printful generates from the same photography, so a search page fills with identical images. Rendering your own PSD templates is the usual fix. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/printful ### PSDmate vs eRank The most widely used Etsy keyword and listing-audit tool, with a genuinely usable free plan. Price: $5.99/month. Free plan available; Basic $5.99/mo, Pro $9.99/mo, Expert $29.99/mo. Annual billing takes Pro to $7.92/mo ($94.99/year). Plans differ by daily keyword lookups, listing audits and competitor shops tracked. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** eRank and PSDmate do not compete. eRank tells you what to sell and which words to use; it renders no images and publishes no listings. PSDmate produces the listing images from PSD templates you own and publishes the finished listing to Etsy. The realistic setup for a serious shop is both — eRank at $5.99 to pick the niche and the keywords, PSDmate to produce the drop. **Where eRank is genuinely better:** - The cheapest serious Etsy keyword data anywhere — Basic is $5.99/month and the free plan is genuinely usable. - Keyword lookups, trend data and listing audits across multiple marketplaces, not just Etsy. - Competitor shop tracking, which PSDmate does not offer at all. - A browser extension that annotates Etsy search pages while you browse them. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Renders listing images from the PSD templates you already own — eRank produces no images of any kind. - Batch mode takes a folder of artwork and every template and returns the full grid in one job. - Publishes the finished listing to Etsy over the API, rather than telling you what to type. - Scans your whole shop for tag competition against live Etsy listing counts, and flags where your own listings compete with each other. - Generates the listing video slot from the same mockup set. **Feature by feature:** - Search volume: eRank — Its core product. PSDmate — Not offered. - Tag competition: eRank — Yes. PSDmate — Yes — live Etsy listing counts per phrase. - Competitor shops: eRank — Tracked and monitored. PSDmate — Not offered. - Image production: eRank — None. PSDmate — Your own PSD templates, batch-rendered. - Publish to Etsy: eRank — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. - Monthly price: eRank — Free to $29.99. PSDmate — From £20. **Pick eRank if:** You need keyword research, niche validation or competitor tracking. That is eRank's job and it does it cheaply and well. **Pick PSDmate if:** You already know what to list and the bottleneck is producing and publishing the images. **Q: Is eRank an alternative to PSDmate?** A: No, and any page telling you otherwise is guessing. eRank is a keyword and audit tool that produces no images; PSDmate is a rendering and publishing pipeline whose research side measures competition rather than search volume. They sit at opposite ends of the same workflow. **Q: Do I need both eRank and PSDmate?** A: If you are listing at volume, most likely yes. eRank costs $5.99 a month and answers "what should I make and what should I call it". PSDmate answers "now make 60 listing images and publish them". Neither substitutes for the other. **Q: Can eRank bulk edit or publish Etsy listings?** A: No. eRank audits listings and suggests improvements, but the edits are yours to make in Etsy. It has no bulk publishing facility. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/erank ### PSDmate vs EverBee Product research tool best known for estimated sales volume on any Etsy listing. Price: $24.99/month. Free Hobby plan (10 keyword researches); Growth $24.99/mo or $299/year; Business $69/mo or $828/year. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** EverBee is a research tool: its draw is estimated sales volume and revenue on listings you did not publish, which is how sellers decide what to make. It renders nothing and publishes nothing. PSDmate starts where EverBee stops — once you know the niche, it turns artwork and your PSD templates into finished, published listings. **Where EverBee is genuinely better:** - Estimated monthly sales and revenue per listing — the headline feature, and PSDmate has no equivalent. - Product and niche validation before you commit design time. - A free tier that is enough to evaluate the data quality before paying. - Chrome extension that surfaces the estimates directly on Etsy search pages. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Produces the listing images; EverBee produces none. - Batch rendering across every artwork and template combination in one unattended job. - AI listing copy and 13 tags written from the rendered image, then published over the Etsy API. - Unlimited renders on a flat plan rather than research quotas. **Feature by feature:** - Sales estimates: EverBee — Its core product. PSDmate — Not offered. - Niche research: EverBee — Yes. PSDmate — Seed-topic expansion, scored against live Etsy data. - Image production: EverBee — None. PSDmate — Your own PSD templates, batch-rendered. - Publish to Etsy: EverBee — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. - Monthly price: EverBee — Free to $69. PSDmate — From £20. **Pick EverBee if:** Your question is "will this niche sell" and you want volume estimates before you design anything. **Pick PSDmate if:** Your question is "how do I get 60 listings live this week" and the answer is currently Photoshop and manual uploads. **Q: Does EverBee make mockups?** A: No. EverBee is a research and analytics product. It estimates how listings perform; it does not generate listing images. **Q: EverBee or PSDmate for a new shop?** A: EverBee first, if you do not yet know what you are selling — there is no point producing 60 listings in a niche that does not move. Once the niche is chosen, the constraint becomes production, which is what PSDmate is for. **Q: Are EverBee's sales estimates accurate?** A: They are estimates derived from public listing signals, not figures from Etsy, so treat them as directional. That is true of every tool in this category, ours included where we estimate anything. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/everbee ### PSDmate vs Alura All-in-one Etsy seller platform — keywords, listing optimisation, A/B tests and follow-ups. Price: $14.99/month. Free plan available; Basic $7.99/mo, Growth $14.99/mo, Professional $29.99/mo. Annual billing advertised at up to 50% off. Tiers differ by daily searches, listings optimised, AI responses and A/B tests. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** Alura is the broadest of the research tools — keyword and product research, a listing grader, A/B testing and customer follow-ups in one subscription. What it does not do is produce images. It optimises listings that already exist; PSDmate creates the listings in the first place, from your PSD templates and artwork. **Where Alura is genuinely better:** - The widest feature set of any tool in this comparison for the money — research, optimisation, A/B tests and follow-up email in one $14.99 plan. - Listing A/B testing, which PSDmate offers only as analysis rather than as a managed test. - Customer follow-up automation, which PSDmate does not do at all. - Pinterest scheduling bundled in, where PSDmate treats Pinterest as a separate concern. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Renders listing images from PSD templates you own — Alura produces no images. - Bulk production: every artwork against every template in one job, then published as Etsy drafts. - Native Etsy publishing of new listings rather than optimisation of existing ones. - Listing video generated from the same mockup set. **Feature by feature:** - Search volume: Alura — Yes. PSDmate — Not offered. - Tag competition: Alura — Yes. PSDmate — Yes, plus cannibalisation detection. - A/B testing: Alura — Managed tests. PSDmate — Performance analysis only. - Image production: Alura — None. PSDmate — Your own PSD templates, batch-rendered. - New listings: Alura — Optimises existing listings. PSDmate — Creates and publishes new ones. - Monthly price: Alura — Free to $29.99. PSDmate — From £20. **Pick Alura if:** You have listings already and want to improve them — better keywords, tested titles, follow-up emails — rather than produce more of them. **Pick PSDmate if:** Your listings do not exist yet and the work between artwork and a live listing is the thing eating your week. **Q: Can Alura create Etsy listing images?** A: No. Alura works on the text and performance side — keywords, titles, descriptions, tests and follow-ups. The photography and mockups are assumed to exist already. **Q: Is Alura a replacement for eRank?** A: More nearly than it is a replacement for PSDmate. Alura and eRank overlap heavily on keyword and listing tooling; the choice between them is about breadth versus price. Neither renders anything. **Q: Can I use Alura and PSDmate together?** A: Yes, and they divide cleanly: Alura decides what the listing should say, PSDmate produces the images and puts the listing live. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/alura ### PSDmate vs Vela Bulk Etsy listing editor with photo tools, scheduling and per-shop volume pricing. Price: $29.95/month per shop. Lite $29.95/mo per shop at 0–500 listings, rising with listing count to $54.95 at 7.5K–10K; Plus $39.95/mo adds AI bulk optimisation and Studio image tools. 20% multi-shop discount. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** Vela is the closest competitor in this group and the only one that genuinely overlaps: it bulk-edits, schedules and publishes Etsy listings, and its Plus tier includes image tooling. The split is direction of travel. Vela is built to change listings you already have, at scale. PSDmate is built to manufacture listings you do not have yet, from PSD templates you own. A shop with 3,000 live listings to tidy wants Vela; a shop with 300 artworks and no listings wants PSDmate. **Where Vela is genuinely better:** - Bulk editing of existing listings is its core strength and it is better at that than PSDmate. - Scheduled updates and scheduled publication, which PSDmate does not offer. - A photo library with background removal, alt text and colour tools built in. - Pricing scales with listing count and discounts multiple shops by 20% — fairer for very large catalogues. - Multi-channel support beyond Etsy, where PSDmate is Etsy-only. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Renders your own PSD mockup templates with their Smart Objects, lighting and shadows intact — Vela's image tools work on flat photos. - One job takes every artwork against every template and returns the whole grid, rather than editing listings one collection at a time. - Flat pricing with unlimited renders instead of per-shop pricing that rises with catalogue size. - Listing video generated from the mockup set for Etsy's video slot. **Feature by feature:** - Own PSD templates: Vela — Not supported. PSDmate — Core feature. - Bulk operations: Vela — Bulk edit existing listings. PSDmate — Bulk render and publish new ones. - Publish to Etsy: Vela — Yes, including scheduling. PSDmate — Yes, over the Etsy API. - Scheduling: Vela — Yes. PSDmate — Not offered. - Pricing model: Vela — Per shop, rises with listing count. PSDmate — Flat plan, unlimited renders. **Pick Vela if:** You already have a large live catalogue and the job is editing, re-pricing, re-tagging or scheduling it at scale — especially across more than one channel. **Pick PSDmate if:** Your artwork is not listed yet, you own PSD mockup templates, and the work is producing the images and getting them live. **Q: Vela or PSDmate?** A: Vela if the listings exist and need changing; PSDmate if the listings do not exist and need making. The two are genuinely complementary, and a shop doing regular drops into a large back catalogue may well run both. **Q: Does Vela render PSD mockup templates?** A: Not as PSD files. Vela Plus includes mockup generation and image editing tools, but there is no facility for uploading a Photoshop PSD with your own Smart Object layers and rendering against it. **Q: Which is cheaper?** A: It depends entirely on catalogue size, which is the interesting part. Vela starts at $29.95 per shop and rises with listing count; PSDmate is flat from £20 with unlimited renders. Vela gets relatively more expensive as the catalogue grows, PSDmate does not. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/vela ### PSDmate vs Marmalead Long-established Etsy SEO tool with engagement-weighted keyword data and a lifetime plan. Price: $19/month. $19/mo monthly, $53 quarterly (~$18/mo), $190/year (~$16/mo), or $300 once for lifetime access. All tiers unlock the same feature set. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** Marmalead is one of the oldest Etsy SEO tools and prices unusually — every tier has the same features, including a $300 lifetime option, so you are choosing a billing period rather than a capability. It is a research and grading tool: no images, no publishing. PSDmate covers the production half of the workflow it leaves untouched. **Where Marmalead is genuinely better:** - A genuine lifetime plan at $300, which no other tool in this comparison offers and which beats any subscription over a long enough horizon. - Every feature on every tier — no capability gating, unlike eRank, Alura and EverBee. - Engagement-weighted keyword data rather than raw search counts. - Long track record, which matters when the data is the product. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Produces listing images from PSD templates you own; Marmalead produces none. - Batch rendering and one-click Etsy publishing. - AI listing copy generated from the actual rendered image rather than from keyword input alone. - Tag competition and cannibalisation checks run across the shop you have, not a keyword box you type into. - Listing video for the Etsy video slot. **Feature by feature:** - Search volume: Marmalead — Its core product. PSDmate — Not offered. - Tag competition: Marmalead — Yes. PSDmate — Yes — live Etsy listing counts per phrase. - Feature gating: Marmalead — None — all tiers equal. PSDmate — Tiered by listing volume. - Lifetime option: Marmalead — $300 once. PSDmate — Subscription only. - Image production: Marmalead — None. PSDmate — Your own PSD templates, batch-rendered. - Publish to Etsy: Marmalead — Not offered. PSDmate — One click over the Etsy API. **Pick Marmalead if:** You want established keyword and grading data, and the lifetime plan appeals more than a monthly subscription. **Pick PSDmate if:** Keywords are not your bottleneck — turning artwork into live listings is. **Q: Is Marmalead still worth it in 2026?** A: For keyword and grading work it remains credible, and the $300 lifetime plan is genuinely unusual pricing in this category. It does not touch image production or publishing, so it is not a substitute for a rendering pipeline. **Q: Marmalead or eRank?** A: They compete directly. eRank is cheaper monthly and has broader marketplace coverage; Marmalead ungates every feature on every tier and offers the lifetime option. Neither renders images. **Q: Does Marmalead publish listings to Etsy?** A: No. It analyses and grades listings; the changes and the publishing are yours to do in Etsy. Flex £2 per successful generation with no subscription; Starter £20/mo (PSD templates and unlimited mockups, no AI images, no Etsy posting); Enterprise BETA £50/mo, reduced from £250, with 400 monthly image credits, unlimited custom PSD frames and unlimited Etsy posts. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** Artomate is the closest product to PSDmate that exists: cloud PSD mockup rendering without Photoshop, AI poster generation, and Etsy draft listings with titles and tags. The real differences are commercial rather than technical. Artomate will sell you one generation for £2 with no subscription, and bundles AI image generation into its £50 tier; PSDmate has no pay-as-you-go entry, and charges for unlimited rendering on a flat plan rather than by image credit. If you want to test the idea for the price of a coffee, Artomate is the easier first step. **Where Artomate is genuinely better:** - A £2 per-generation Flex option with no subscription and no minimum — the cheapest way to test this category, and PSDmate has no equivalent. - AI image generation across 15 models with 400 credits included at £50/month, where PSDmate meters AI images far more tightly. - Its £20 Starter tier includes unlimited mockup generation with PSD template support. - Credits cost the same on every model, with no premium surcharge for the better ones. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Etsy publishing is available from the £20 plan; Artomate's £20 Starter explicitly excludes Etsy posting, so publishing starts at £50 there. - Unlimited renders on every paid plan rather than monthly image credits that can run out mid-drop. - Listing video: a slideshow MP4 built from the same mockup set for Etsy's video slot. - Etsy order and tracking sync plus a finance dashboard — PSDmate covers the shop after the listing goes live, not just up to it. - Bulk re-thumbnailing of listings that already exist, including ones PSDmate did not publish. **Feature by feature:** - Entry price: Artomate — £2 per generation, no subscription. PSDmate — From £20/month, no pay-as-you-go. - Own PSD templates: Artomate — Supported. PSDmate — Supported. - Etsy publishing: Artomate — From £50/month. PSDmate — From £20/month. - AI images: Artomate — 400 credits/month at £50. PSDmate — Metered by plan. - Render limits: Artomate — Unlimited mockups from £20. PSDmate — Unlimited renders on every plan. - After publishing: Artomate — Not covered. PSDmate — Order sync, tracking, finance dashboard. **Pick Artomate if:** You want to try AI poster automation without committing to a subscription, or AI image generation is the main thing you are buying and you want a lot of it cheaply. **Pick PSDmate if:** You own PSD templates, publish to Etsy regularly, and want publishing, order sync and listing video on one flat plan rather than metered credits. **Q: Artomate or PSDmate for a new poster shop?** A: Artomate if you want to test the workflow before committing — £2 for a single generation is a genuinely low-risk way in, and nothing in PSDmate matches it. PSDmate once you are publishing regularly, because publishing starts at £20 rather than £50 and renders are unlimited rather than credited. **Q: Do both work without Photoshop?** A: Yes. Both render PSD Smart Object templates in the cloud, so neither needs Photoshop installed. That part of the pitch is genuinely the same. **Q: Which is cheaper for high volume?** A: It depends on what you are producing. If you are generating a lot of AI artwork, Artomate's 400 credits at £50 is strong value. If you are rendering your own artwork across many templates, PSDmate's unlimited renders on a flat plan is the cheaper shape, because rendering is not metered at all. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/artomate ### PSDmate vs Elistit Credit-budget listing factory — AI analyses the artwork and builds the whole Etsy draft. Price: $24/month. Free tier with 100 credits at signup then 60/month; Starter $24/mo ($240/year) with a $26.40 monthly product-creation budget; Grow $49/mo adds custom mockup PSDs and recurring auto-creation; Studio $99/mo adds 3 Etsy stores, delegated access and webhooks. Checked September 2026. **Verdict.** Elistit turns artwork into a finished Etsy draft — up to 20 listing images, title, description and 13 tags — and prices it as a monthly product-creation budget rather than a seat. The structural difference from PSDmate is where your own PSD templates sit: Elistit puts custom mockup PSDs on its $49 Grow tier, while PSDmate treats rendering your own templates as the product itself at every tier. Elistit also has a free tier, which PSDmate does not. **Where Elistit is genuinely better:** - A genuine free tier — 100 credits at signup and 60 a month after — so you can see real output before paying anything. - Delivers up to 20 listing images per product, including slides in your shop branding. - Recurring auto-creation on a cadence, so listings can be produced on a schedule without you starting a run. - Studio supports 3 Etsy stores plus delegated VA access and webhooks — PSDmate is one shop and has no delegated access. - A credit budget is easier to predict than a subscription if your output is genuinely lumpy month to month. **Where PSDmate is better:** - Your own PSD templates work on every plan, including the cheapest; Elistit gates custom mockup PSDs to its $49 Grow tier. - Unlimited renders rather than a monthly product-creation budget that caps how much you can make. - Publishes over the Etsy API directly, rather than delivering drafts through Google Drive. - Listing video generated from the same mockup set. - Order and tracking sync plus a finance dashboard after the listing is live. **Feature by feature:** - Free tier: Elistit — Yes — 60 credits/month. PSDmate — None; every plan is paid. - Own PSD templates: Elistit — From $49 Grow. PSDmate — Every plan. - Pricing model: Elistit — Monthly creation budget. PSDmate — Flat plan, unlimited renders. - Delivery: Elistit — Etsy drafts via Google Drive. PSDmate — Published over the Etsy API. - Multiple shops: Elistit — 3 stores on Studio. PSDmate — One shop. - Team access: Elistit — Delegated VA access on Studio. PSDmate — Not offered. **Pick Elistit if:** You want to try the category free, you run more than one shop, or you need a VA to work in the tool alongside you. **Pick PSDmate if:** Your own PSD templates are central and you do not want them locked behind a higher tier, and you would rather have unlimited rendering than a monthly creation budget. **Q: Elistit or PSDmate for wall art?** A: If you already own poster and frame PSD templates, PSDmate renders them on every plan while Elistit gates custom mockup PSDs to $49. If you have no templates and want the whole listing produced for you, Elistit's free tier is the cheaper way to find out whether the output suits your shop. **Q: Does Elistit publish directly to Etsy?** A: It produces Etsy drafts and delivers them through Google Drive, ready to publish to a connected shop. PSDmate publishes to the shop over the Etsy API itself. Both end with a draft you review — the difference is how many steps sit in between. **Q: Is a credit budget better than a flat plan?** A: It is better when your output is uneven, because you are not paying for a month you barely used. It is worse when you are producing steadily, because rendering the same artwork across ten templates consumes budget every time, where unlimited rendering does not. Full comparison: https://psdmate.com/vs/elistit ## Products PSDmate is used to mock up ### T-Shirt mockups A t-shirt mockup generator composites your design onto a photograph of a shirt so buyers can see the printed result before it exists. PSDmate does it from the PSD templates you already own: it reads the template's Smart Object layer, applies your artwork through the same warp and fabric shading Photoshop would, and repeats that across every colourway and model shot in one batch. A twelve-colour apparel listing that takes an hour by hand comes back as a ZIP in minutes. Variations worth rendering: Garment colour × model pose × flat lay × close-up crop. A ten-colour apparel design is routinely 30–40 listing images. - Typical DTG print area: 12 × 16 in front (some suppliers 14 × 16.5 in) - Artwork resolution: 3600 × 4800 px at 300 DPI covers a 12 × 16 in area - File format: PNG with transparency for the design; PSD for the template - Colour mode: RGB for screen, sRGB profile embedded - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger, square crop Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/t-shirt ### Hoodie mockups A hoodie mockup generator places your design onto a photographed hoodie, handling the details that make apparel mockups fail: thick fabric folds, the pocket seam crossing the print area, and the shadow the hood casts across the chest. PSDmate renders these from PSD templates you own, applying the template's own displacement and shading to your artwork, and repeats it across every colour and pose in one batch. Variations worth rendering: Garment colour × front/back × model pose × flat lay. Hoodie listings commonly need 20–30 images. - Typical print area: 12 × 16 in front, reduced above a kangaroo pocket - Artwork resolution: 3600 × 4800 px at 300 DPI for a 12 × 16 in area - Safe print zone: Keep detail clear of the pocket seam — usually the lower 4 in - File format: PNG with transparency; PSD for the template - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/hoodie ### Mug mockups A mug mockup generator wraps your flat design around a photographed ceramic mug, matching the curve, the handle position and the way gloss catches the print. PSDmate renders these from your own PSD templates, so the wrap comes from the template's Smart Object transform rather than an approximation — and one job can produce every mug colour, both sides and every lifestyle scene you sell. Variations worth rendering: Mug colour × handle side × both print faces × lifestyle scene. A single mug design is easily 12–20 images. - Common 11 oz print file: 2475 × 1155 px — the widely used full-wrap spec - Typical print area: About 8.5 × 3.35 in wrap on an 11 oz mug - Handle clearance: Keep key detail 1 in clear of the handle on each side - File format: PNG at 300 DPI; PSD for the template - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/mug ### Tote Bag mockups A tote bag mockup generator places your design onto a photographed canvas bag, following the creases and slack that make a tote look worn rather than printed. PSDmate renders from PSD templates you own, so the canvas weave and fold shadows come from the original photograph, and one batch covers every bag colour, hanging shot and lifestyle scene in your listing. Variations worth rendering: Bag colour × hanging/held/flat × lifestyle scene. Typically 10–15 images per design. - Typical print area: 12 × 12 in to 15 × 15 in depending on bag size - Artwork resolution: 3600 × 3600 px at 300 DPI covers a 12 in square - Safe zone: Keep detail clear of side seams and the base fold - File format: PNG with transparency; PSD for the template - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/tote-bag ### Sticker mockups A sticker mockup generator shows your design as a physical sticker: die-cut edge, surface finish, and applied on something that gives it scale. PSDmate renders these from your own PSD templates, so the cut border, gloss and drop shadow come from the template rather than being faked with a stroke — and a whole sticker pack renders in one job instead of one file at a time. Variations worth rendering: Finish × applied surface × single vs sheet vs pack layout. - Resolution: 300 DPI at final printed size, minimum - Bleed: Usually 0.125 in beyond the cut line - Cut line: Supplied as a separate path or layer, not drawn into the artwork - File format: PNG with transparency, or PDF where the supplier wants a vector cut path - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/sticker ### Wall Art mockups A wall art mockup generator drops your artwork into a photographed room so buyers can judge scale, framing and how the piece sits against a wall. PSDmate renders from your own PSD room-scene templates: it maps your file into the frame's Smart Object with the correct perspective, and produces every aspect ratio, frame colour and scene in a single batch — which is what a poster listing with five print sizes actually needs. Variations worth rendering: Aspect ratio × frame colour × room scene × close-up. A five-ratio poster listing routinely needs 25+ images. - Common ratios: 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11:14 and the ISO A series - Artwork resolution: 300 DPI at the largest size you sell; 150 DPI is acceptable above about 24 × 36 in - Digital downloads: Supply each ratio as a separate file rather than one crop - File format: JPEG or PDF for delivery; PSD for the template - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/wall-art ### Canvas Print mockups A canvas print mockup generator shows artwork stretched over a wooden frame, including the wrapped edge that a flat poster mockup never has to deal with. PSDmate renders from your own PSD canvas templates, so the weave texture, edge wrap and wall shadow come from the original photograph — and every size, depth and room scene renders together in one job. Variations worth rendering: Size × wrap depth × edge treatment × room scene. - Wrap depth: Commonly 0.75 in or 1.5 in — the artwork must extend around it - Bleed: Add wrap depth plus a safety margin on all four sides - Artwork resolution: 300 DPI at printed size including the wrap area - Safe zone: Keep text and faces well inside the front face - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/canvas ### Phone Case mockups A phone case mockup generator places your design onto a specific handset model, with the camera cutout, button positions and case finish in the right places. PSDmate renders from your own PSD templates, so each device shape comes from a real photograph rather than a generic rectangle — and because listings usually span a dozen models, batch rendering is what makes the product viable at all. Variations worth rendering: Device model × case finish × colour × held vs flat. The highest variant count of any POD product. - Artwork size: Device-specific; roughly 1500 × 3000 px at 300 DPI for a modern handset - Cutouts: Camera and port positions differ per model — never reuse one file across devices - Bleed: Artwork must wrap the case edge on tough and 3D-printed cases - Finish: Matte, gloss and clear behave differently and need separate templates - Etsy listing image: 2000 px on the shortest side or larger Page: https://psdmate.com/mockup-generator/phone-case ## Limitations, stated plainly - No stock template library. If you own no PSDs, PSDmate has nothing to render until you buy or build one. - Not worth it at low volume. Two or three designs a month is faster by hand, and cheaper. - It does not draw artwork onto a product. It composites the file you give it. - Bulk runs are capped at 50 artwork images per job. - Publishing targets Etsy. Other marketplaces are not published to over an API today. - Print dimensions quoted on product pages are the common case across major suppliers, not a guarantee — the supplier's own spec sheet wins. - The trademark checker screens against a curated enforcement list and the US register. It is a risk signal, not legal advice, and it reads text rather than imagery. - There is no free tier and no free trial. Every plan is paid from the first day and can be cancelled any time. ## Data, privacy and integrations - Etsy is connected over OAuth against the official Etsy Open API v3. No password is ever requested or stored. - The OpenRouter API key is stored encrypted per user, and generation is billed by OpenRouter directly rather than resold. - The free tools marked browser-side — print resolution checker, Etsy profit calculator, trademark checker, image converters — read your file locally and upload nothing. - Integrations: Etsy, PrintShrimp (printable files, order costs and tracking), Pinterest, Discord, Google Drive, and PSDmate Capture, a Chrome extension for pulling reference imagery into the app. ## Frequently asked questions — features **Q: Do I need Photoshop?** A: No. Rendering happens server-side. You need the PSD files, not the software. **Q: Will it work with templates I bought elsewhere?** A: Generally yes, provided the template uses a Smart Object for the artwork placeholder, which almost all commercial mockup PSDs do. **Q: How many can I render at once?** A: Up to fifty artwork images per bulk run, rendered against every template you have selected. **Q: Do you charge per image?** A: No. You supply your own provider key and pay the provider directly. **Q: Can I sell AI-generated art on Etsy?** A: Etsy requires AI-assisted work to be disclosed and listed appropriately. Rules change, so check Etsy's current seller policy — and be aware that copyright in AI output is unsettled in most jurisdictions. **Q: Is the resolution high enough for posters?** A: Not straight out of most models. Generate at the highest resolution the model supports, upscale once early, and check the file against the sizes you plan to sell before publishing. **Q: Do I need design skills for this?** A: You need to make the decision once. After that the templates apply it, which is the part that does not scale by hand. **Q: Can I use my own frame images?** A: Yes. Frames and layouts are built from your own assets, not a fixed library. **Q: How many listing images should a listing have?** A: Etsy allows ten. Most successful print listings use the full set — main mockup, in-room, size comparison, detail and material shots. **Q: Do I need video editing software?** A: No. Videos are assembled from your rendered mockups inside PSDmate. **Q: Does listing video actually help?** A: Etsy surfaces video in search results and on mobile listing pages, and it is still rare among print-on-demand sellers, so it is a differentiator more than a guarantee. **Q: Can I add video to listings that are already live?** A: Yes, individually or in bulk. **Q: Is this allowed by Etsy?** A: Yes. It uses Etsy's official public API with OAuth, which is the sanctioned way for third-party tools to create listings. **Q: What happens if a bulk run fails halfway?** A: Completed items stay published, incomplete ones are marked, and retrying processes only what is missing. **Q: Can I review listings before they go live?** A: Yes. Listings can be created as drafts for review rather than published immediately. **Q: Do I need my own AI key?** A: Yes. You supply a key for one of six supported providers, which means you pay provider rates directly rather than a marked-up per-listing fee. **Q: Will every listing read the same?** A: No, because the copy is generated from each rendered image. You can also store your own instructions so the tone stays consistent without the wording repeating. **Q: Does it guarantee first-page ranking?** A: No, and treat any tool that claims so with suspicion. It removes the mechanical mistakes — empty tag slots, truncated titles, missing keywords — that hold listings back. **Q: Can I undo a bulk edit?** A: Not automatically — bulk operations apply to live listings. Destructive actions ask for confirmation first, and it is worth testing on a small selection. **Q: Does this use my Etsy API quota?** A: Yes. Requests are rate-limited to stay inside Etsy's limits, which is why a large batch takes a few minutes rather than seconds. **Q: Can I edit listings PSDmate did not create?** A: Yes. Any listing in the connected shop can be edited. **Q: Does PSDmate deliver the files to buyers?** A: No. Etsy handles digital delivery. PSDmate prepares the artwork, previews and listing. **Q: What sizes should a printable listing offer?** A: The common set is the A-series plus the standard US inch ratios. Whatever you offer, the artwork has to support the largest one at print resolution. **Q: Do I need different files per aspect ratio?** A: Yes. A2 and 8x10 are different shapes, and cropping one to the other loses part of the design. Design per ratio, then scale within it. **Q: Does it connect to my Etsy shop automatically?** A: Yes. Once you connect Etsy over the official API, fees are imported from your payment ledger and sales are synced daily. You do not upload a CSV. **Q: Does it replace an accountant?** A: No, and it should not. It gives your accountant a clean, categorised export instead of a shoebox. What is deductible and how you file remains a question for a qualified professional in your jurisdiction. **Q: Can I track costs that are not from Etsy or my POD supplier?** A: Yes. Add any expense manually, or set it up as a recurring cost — design software, ad spend, a subscription — and it is counted in every month automatically. **Q: What happens if I cancel a subscription I was tracking?** A: Cancelling stops it from being counted in future months and leaves every past month untouched, because that money really was spent. **Q: Does it handle VAT?** A: It records what you were charged and flags deductible expenses. It does not file VAT returns or calculate your VAT position — that is your accountant's job. **Q: How much does Etsy take per sale?** A: Roughly 11–13% of the order total on a normal sale: $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing of 3%–4% plus a flat fee. If the order is attributed to Offsite Ads, add 12% or 15%, which takes the total nearer 25–30%. **Q: Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?** A: Yes. Etsy's 6.5% applies to the full order total — item price, shipping you charge, gift wrap and personalisation. This is the fee sellers most often forget when they price free shipping in. **Q: Can I avoid the Offsite Ads fee?** A: Only below $10,000 in trailing twelve-month revenue, where you can opt out. Above it, participation is mandatory and permanent, though the rate drops from 15% to 12% and no single order is charged more than $100. **Q: Why is the number different from my Etsy statement?** A: This applies Etsy's published schedule. Your statement reflects what was actually charged, including refunds, partial cancellations, VAT on fees and your specific market's rates. Treat this as a pricing tool, not a bookkeeping one — the accounting side of PSDmate imports your real ledger for that. **Q: Is a 30% margin realistic for print-on-demand?** A: On a mid-priced item with no Offsite Ads attributed, yes. On the same item fully attributed, it usually is not without raising the price. Pricing so a fully-attributed order still clears your minimum is the safer habit. **Q: How far back does the history go?** A: From the day you connect your shop. Etsy's API does not backfill historic per-listing stats, so the record starts when tracking starts. **Q: Does this replace Etsy Stats?** A: No. It keeps a longer per-listing history than Etsy exposes, and joins it to your costs so views can be read against profit. **Q: Can I turn the weekly email off?** A: Yes, from notification settings. **Q: How long does a test run?** A: Fourteen days. Shorter windows are dominated by day-to-day traffic noise on Etsy. **Q: What is measured?** A: Views, favourites and sales, snapshotted daily per listing. **Q: Do I have to end the test manually?** A: No. A scheduled job settles tests once the window closes and flags the winner. **Q: Where does the data come from?** A: Live queries against Etsy for each candidate, not a third-party keyword database. **Q: Does it tell me exactly what to make?** A: No. It narrows the field and shows you the numbers behind each candidate. The design judgement stays yours. **Q: How often are saved niches checked?** A: Weekly. The first check on a new niche stores a baseline, and later runs compare against it. **Q: Which supplier does this work with?** A: PrintShrimp is integrated directly for orders, pricing and product creation. Other suppliers can still be used manually. **Q: Does the buyer get notified?** A: Yes. Pushing tracking to the Etsy order triggers Etsy's standard dispatch notification. **Q: Will re-syncing duplicate my costs?** A: No. Imported costs are keyed to the supplier order, so the same order can only post once. **Q: What DPI do I need for posters?** A: 300 DPI is the comfortable default. For large formats viewed from across a room, 150 DPI is genuinely fine — viewing distance scales with print size. Below 100 DPI is visibly soft at any size. **Q: Can I just change the DPI setting in Photoshop?** A: No. Changing the DPI field without resampling relabels the file and adds no pixels. What matters is pixel dimensions against physical size. **Q: Can I check the DPI of a PDF?** A: Yes. Drop the PDF in and it reports the page size in inches, the pixel dimensions of the artwork placed on it, and the effective resolution that gives you — plus the same good, risky or too-low verdict at every poster size. Nothing is uploaded: the PDF is parsed in your browser. **Q: Why does my PDF show a different DPI in Acrobat?** A: It should not, if you are reading effective resolution rather than native. A PDF does not have one DPI. An image placed at half its natural size doubles in effective resolution; placed at twice its size it halves. This reports the effective figure at the page's own dimensions, which is the number the printer works to. **Q: What if my PDF is vector artwork?** A: It is reported as vector, with no DPI. Vector art is drawn from maths rather than pixels, so it stays sharp at any size and has no resolution to run out of. A DPI figure for it would be meaningless. **Q: Is my image uploaded anywhere?** A: No. The check runs in your browser and reads only the file's dimensions. The file never leaves your device. **Q: My file is too low for the size I want. Can I upscale it?** A: You can, but upscaling invents pixels rather than recovering them, and the result prints soft. The better fix is to master the artwork at the largest size you sell and let smaller orders downsize from it. **Q: Can you tell me if something is copyrighted?** A: No tool can, and be sceptical of any that claims to. There is no searchable registry of every copyrighted work, and short phrases and single words are not copyrightable at all. What actually removes Etsy listings is trademark, which is a public register — so that is what this searches. **Q: Does a clear result mean I can safely sell it?** A: No. It means nothing close turned up on the US federal register in the relevant classes. It does not cover unregistered common-law rights, EU or UK marks, copyright in artwork or lyrics, or publicity rights in a person's name and face. Treat it as one check passed, not as permission. **Q: Does adding "not affiliated with" make it legal?** A: No. A disclaimer does not license a trademark, and it will not stop an automated takedown. It can help against a pure consumer-confusion argument, which is a small part of the problem. **Q: Winnie-the-Pooh is public domain now — can I sell it?** A: You can use the 1926 book and its original illustrations, because that copyright expired in the US in 2022. You still cannot use Disney's designs, and Disney's trademarks in the name are live and enforced. Tigger is not covered either way, as he first appeared in 1928. **Q: What happens if I get it wrong?** A: On Etsy, the listing is removed and the shop takes an intellectual-property strike. Enough strikes closes the shop permanently, and appeals against a large brand's automated programme rarely succeed. Larger rights holders sometimes go further than a takedown. **Q: Does it check the UK register, or only the US?** A: The automated search is US only, because the US is the only major register with a free search API. The UK IPO publishes none — its last bulk data release was in February 2018 — and EUIPO and TMview require an approved data agreement. So the UK, EU, Australian, Canadian and Japanese registers are given as one-click searches with your phrase already filled in, alongside WIPO and TMview which cover 80+ offices between them. The known-brand list applies everywhere, and plenty of those brands are British. **Q: Can I upload my design instead of typing?** A: Yes, one image at a time. It reads the lettering off the artwork in your browser and screens those words — the file is never uploaded. It reads text, so it will catch a slogan, a band name or a character name printed on the design, but it cannot recognise a drawing. No text found means nothing was read, not that the design is clear. **Q: Is this legal advice?** A: No. It is a risk screen built from public records, and it is wrong sometimes in both directions. If a real amount of money depends on the answer, a trademark attorney running a proper clearance search is cheap by comparison. **Q: Why do my prints look duller than my screen?** A: Because a screen emits light and a print reflects it. Backlit pixels reach saturations that ink physically cannot, so the most vivid colours in a design get compressed to the nearest printable equivalent. The effect is strongest in turquoise, electric green and vivid blue, and barely noticeable in yellows, creams and earth tones. **Q: Should I convert my files to CMYK before uploading?** A: Usually not. Most print-on-demand suppliers want sRGB and run their own conversion with a profile matched to their press, and converting early means converting twice. The useful thing is to know in advance which colours will move, and to adjust the artwork rather than the colour mode. **Q: Is this the same as soft proofing in Photoshop?** A: No. Photoshop soft proofs against a specific ICC profile for a specific press and paper. This approximates a generic coated-stock CMYK gamut, with no profile involved. It is a good deal more accurate than guessing and a good deal less accurate than a real proof, which is why it is free and instant. **Q: What do I do about the colours it flags?** A: Decide whether they carry the design. If the flagged area is a background wash, desaturating it slightly in the file will look closer to the print than leaving it. If the whole piece depends on an electric colour, either accept the shift or rework the palette — no supplier and no paper will reproduce it. **Q: Does the file get uploaded?** A: No. The image is decoded onto a canvas in your browser and the pixels are read there. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored. **Q: How many tags can an Etsy listing have?** A: 13, each up to 20 characters. Use all of them: an empty tag slot is a search the listing is not entered in. **Q: Should my tags repeat my title?** A: Overlap does no harm, but a tag slot is better spent on a phrase the title does not already cover — a room, an occasion, a recipient. The title says what the item is; the tags widen the searches it can appear in. **Q: Will these tags make my listing rank?** A: No tool can promise that. Ranking also depends on photos, price, reviews and how buyers respond to the listing. These tags are phrases buyers search, ranked against what is working for similar listings — a strong starting set, not a guarantee. **Q: Where does the "most-favoured listings" data come from?** A: Etsy's own search API: for your subject it reads the most relevant active listings, weights each by favourites per month of age, and counts which tags several different shops share. One shop's tags are that seller's opinion; several shops is a pattern. **Q: Why was my description refused?** A: It named a brand, character, franchise or celebrity that rights holders enforce on Etsy. Describe the artwork without the name — the style, the subject, the colours — and try again. **Q: How long should an Etsy title be?** A: Etsy allows 140 characters, but a shopper sees about the first 60 and Etsy favours titles that read as a product. Around 70 to 110 characters is the useful range. **Q: Can I check a title I already have?** A: Yes — the free Etsy title grader scores an existing title on the same rules these are written to. **Q: Why three titles?** A: Because the right second phrase depends on how the piece sells: as a style, for a room, or as a gift. Three angles let you choose rather than accept one guess. **Q: Why was my description refused?** A: It named a brand, character, franchise or celebrity that rights holders enforce on Etsy. Describe the artwork without the name and try again. **Q: Is it really free?** A: Yes, with no account and no email. The downloads carry a small PSDmate mark and are preview size; clean full-size files are what the paid app makes. **Q: Is my artwork uploaded?** A: No. It is placed into the scenes on your own device, in the browser tab. **Q: Can I use my own PSD mockups?** A: Not on this page — these three scenes are fixed. In PSDmate you upload your own PSD templates and every design is rendered into all of them at once. **Q: What files can I drop in?** A: PNG, JPG or WebP artwork. Portrait artwork suits these frames best. **Q: How long should an Etsy title be?** A: Etsy's limit is 140 characters and it is a hard limit, not a target. Etsy now favours a title that reads as a product, and roughly the first 60 characters are what a shopper actually sees. Aim for about 70 to 110 characters: lead with what the item is, then add two or three more phrases a buyer would actually type — style or subject, where it hangs, who it is for. Stop there. A word used twice buys nothing, and the tags carry the rest of the rooms and occasions. **Q: Should I use all 140 characters?** A: No — that advice is out of date. A title stuffed to the limit reads as keyword spam to Etsy and to the shopper, and everything past the first 60 characters is written for a machine rather than a buyer. Unused characters are not wasted: a clear 60-character title beats a 140-character list of every term you could think of. **Q: Do separators like | and , affect Etsy SEO?** A: Etsy treats them as breaks between phrases, so they are useful in moderation and harmful in excess. A title chopped into ten fragments reads as a keyword list rather than a product, and shoppers skip it — which costs you the click-through that actually feeds ranking. **Q: Does repeating my main keyword help it rank?** A: No. Etsy does not rank a listing higher for saying a word twice, and the second use spends characters that could have matched a different search. The one exception is a genuine phrase variation people really type, which is a different term rather than a repeat. **Q: Is ALL CAPS bad in an Etsy title?** A: It buys nothing in search — matching is case-insensitive — and it costs you in readability, because shoppers read shouting as spam. Title case or sentence case both work fine. **Q: Does this tell me which keywords to use?** A: No, and be wary of free tools that claim to. Knowing whether a phrase has real search volume needs live marketplace data. This grades the structure of the title you wrote; picking the words is a separate job covered in our keyword research guide. **Q: What is listing cannibalisation on Etsy?** A: It is when two or more of your own listings target the same search terms, so they compete with each other rather than with other shops. Etsy ranks listings individually using each one's own click and conversion history, so splitting the traffic for a query across several of your listings means none of them builds the signal that would have ranked one of them. **Q: How much tag overlap is too much?** A: Roughly 60% or more between two listings means they are answering the same searches and almost certainly splitting the signal. Between about 35% and 60% is worth a look — some shared tags are normal and healthy in a coherent shop. The real question the number prompts is whether those two listings offer a buyer anything genuinely different. **Q: Should I use all 13 Etsy tags?** A: Yes, provided each one buys a different search. An empty slot matches nothing, but a thirteenth tag that is a near-duplicate of your twelfth adds no coverage and pushes you further towards competing with your own other listings. Thirteen distinct phrases beats thirteen variations of one. **Q: Why did Etsy reject my listing over tags?** A: Almost always a duplicate. Etsy returns a tags_duplicates error and fails the whole publish if two tags match, and the match is case-insensitive — so "Wall Art" and "wall art" count as the same tag. Tags are also capped at 20 characters. Both are flagged here before you publish. **Q: Should I just delete the overlapping listing?** A: Usually not. The better fix is differentiation: give each listing a distinct angle, room, style or use case and let the tags follow, or consolidate genuine variations of one product into a single listing with variations so the history accumulates in one place. Deleting a listing throws away whatever history it had. **Q: How long should an Etsy description be?** A: Long enough to answer the real questions and short enough that they can be found. Roughly 100 to 400 words suits most print listings. What matters far more than the count is the order: size, what is included, and physical-or-digital belong near the top, not after three paragraphs of atmosphere. **Q: Does the Etsy description affect SEO?** A: Less than the title and tags, but it is not ignored, and the opening lines carry more weight than the rest. The stronger argument for writing it well is conversion and returns — a description that answers the buyer's question turns a browser into a sale and prevents the refund that follows a wrong assumption. **Q: What should every print listing description say?** A: The size or sizes in real units, whether a frame is included, what paper or material it is on, whether it is posted or downloaded, and when it dispatches. Those five sentences prevent the overwhelming majority of avoidable messages, returns and three-star reviews in wall art. **Q: Why does the checker care about paragraph length?** A: Because most Etsy traffic is on a phone, where a 300-word paragraph is a grey wall. Information in a wall of text is functionally absent — the buyer does not read it, then asks you the question it answered, or assumes the answer and is disappointed. **Q: Is my description sent anywhere?** A: No. The scoring runs entirely in your browser and nothing is transmitted or stored, which matters if you are drafting copy for a product you have not released. **Q: Why does my artwork not fit A4?** A: A4 is 1:1.41. Most AI art and phone photos are 3:4 or 2:3, which are wider or narrower than that. Printing a 3:4 file at A4 means trimming about 6% off the sides, or adding a thin margin at the top and bottom. **Q: Should I crop or add a border?** A: Crop when the edges are background, like sky, sea or a plain wall. Add a border when the subject or any text reaches the edges, or when a margin suits the style, as it does with minimalist and gallery prints. **Q: Does one file cover every size in a row?** A: Yes. Sizes with the same shape are scaled versions of each other, so one 2:3 file prints at 12x18, 16x24, 20x30 and 24x36. Check the DPI shown for the largest size in the row. **Q: Will this make my image higher resolution?** A: No. Files are made at the artwork's own resolution. Use the print file checker to see the DPI at each size, and upscale first if the largest sizes come out under 150. **Q: Is my artwork uploaded?** A: No. Everything is drawn in your browser and the downloads are generated on your device. **Q: How many pixels is A3 at 300 DPI?** A: 3508 x 4961 pixels, about 17.4 megapixels. At 150 DPI it is 1754 x 2480. **Q: How many pixels is 18x24 at 300 DPI?** A: 5400 x 7200 pixels, about 38.9 megapixels. At 150 DPI it is 2700 x 3600. **Q: Is 150 DPI good enough for a poster?** A: For large posters, usually yes. People stand further from a 24x36 than from an A4, so the eye cannot resolve the difference. Below 100 DPI prints look soft at any size. **Q: Does changing the DPI setting in Photoshop add pixels?** A: No. Changing the DPI number without resampling only relabels the file. The pixel dimensions are what decide print quality. **Q: How do I download my Etsy listings CSV?** A: In Shop Manager go to Settings, then Options, then the Download Data tab, and download the Currently for Sale Listings CSV. It holds the title, description and tags of every active listing, which is all this checker needs. **Q: Do I need to connect my Etsy shop?** A: No. Paste the shop link, or upload the CSV you download yourself. Either way there is no Etsy login and nothing is changed in your shop. **Q: Should I use the shop link or the CSV?** A: The link is quicker. Shop links are limited to a few checks an hour because each one reads the shop from Etsy, so if you are fixing listings and checking again, use the CSV. Any spreadsheet with TITLE and TAGS columns works too, including one of listings you have not published yet. **Q: Why do only 5 listings show at first?** A: The first 5 are free to everyone. Entering your email unlocks every listing and the holiday calendar on this browser. The shop-wide counts at the top always cover every listing. **Q: How does the holiday calendar count my listings?** A: A listing counts for a holiday when its title or tags name it, for example "christmas", "xmas" or "santa" for Christmas. A design that suits a holiday but never says so is not counted, which is also how Etsy search sees it. **Q: How many listings can it check?** A: Up to 2,000 in one file. A bigger shop can split its CSV and check it in parts. **Q: Does converting PNG to PDF lose quality?** A: Not here. The image is stored inside the PDF with lossless Flate compression, so the pixels in the PDF are identical to the pixels in the PNG. Converters that re-encode to JPEG do lose quality, most visibly around text and sharp edges. **Q: Can I combine several PNGs into one PDF?** A: Yes. Add them all and they become one multi-page PDF, one image per page, in the order you added them. **Q: What page size should I choose?** A: Match the image if the PDF is going to a print shop that will handle sizing, since it preserves the exact aspect ratio with no margin. Choose A4 or US Letter if somebody is going to print it at home. **Q: Will the PDF be a huge file?** A: Larger than the PNG, usually. Flate compression is lossless, so a detailed photograph stays big. If file size matters more than fidelity, convert to JPG first and then to PDF. **Q: Is my file uploaded anywhere?** A: No. The conversion happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device. **Q: Can I control the page order?** A: Yes — pages follow the order you add the files, and you can remove any file from the list before converting. **Q: Does it re-compress my photos?** A: The image goes into the PDF at full resolution. Because it is embedded losslessly, the PDF is usually larger than the sum of the JPGs — that is the trade for not degrading them further. **Q: How many photos can I add?** A: Thirty at a time. The limit exists because everything runs in your browser's memory rather than on a server. **Q: Is there a watermark?** A: No. No watermark, no account, no sign-up wall on the download. **Q: Why will nothing open my TIFF file?** A: No mainstream browser decodes TIFF, and most marketplaces reject it on upload. It survives in print and archival workflows because it is lossless and stores colour data faithfully, not because it is convenient. **Q: Does converting TIFF to PNG lose quality?** A: No. Both formats are lossless, so the pixels are unchanged. The PNG is usually smaller, because PNG compresses and most TIFFs are stored uncompressed. **Q: What about a multi-page TIFF?** A: Only the first page is converted. Multi-page TIFFs are mostly scanned documents, and for those a PDF is a better destination than a PNG. **Q: Can I convert a TIFF straight to JPG instead?** A: Yes — change the output format on this page, or use the TIFF to JPG page. Choose JPG when file size matters and PNG when nothing is allowed to degrade. **Q: Why is the TIFF so much bigger than the PNG?** A: Because it is uncompressed. PNG spends effort compressing losslessly; an uncompressed TIFF stores every sample plainly, which is exactly why print workflows like it. A ten-megabyte PNG routinely becomes a hundred-megabyte TIFF. **Q: Does this change my DPI?** A: No, and neither does any converter. DPI is the relationship between pixel dimensions and the physical size you print at — it is decided when the job is placed, not stored as a property of the image. If your printer wants 300 DPI at A2, what they need is enough pixels, not a different tag. **Q: Does my artwork stay in CMYK?** A: No. This converter works in RGB, because browsers do. If your print shop requires a CMYK TIFF with a specific profile, that conversion has to happen in a colour-managed application. **Q: Is TIFF better than PNG for printing?** A: Not inherently — both are lossless, so image quality is identical. TIFF is asked for because print workflows standardised on it decades ago and it carries print metadata that PNG does not. **Q: What quality setting should I use?** A: Start at 90–92%. Below about 80% you begin to see haloing around hard edges and text, and photographs go blotchy in smooth gradients like skies. **Q: Why did my transparent background go white?** A: JPG cannot store transparency. White is the sane default; if you need the transparency, stay on PNG or use WebP, which is smaller than PNG and keeps alpha. **Q: Can I convert back to PNG later?** A: You can, but the quality lost in the JPG stage does not come back. Keep the PNG as your master and treat the JPG as a delivery copy. **Q: Does this reduce the image dimensions?** A: No. Pixel dimensions are unchanged — only the compression differs. That matters for print, where pixels are what determine the size you can output at. **Q: Will converting to PNG improve my image quality?** A: No, and be suspicious of any tool that says otherwise. The detail a JPG discarded is gone. Converting stops further loss; it does not undo the loss already there. **Q: Does this make the background transparent?** A: No. It gives you a format that can hold transparency. Removing a background is an editing step, and no automatic conversion can know which pixels you consider background. **Q: Why is the PNG so much bigger?** A: PNG is lossless, so it stores everything including the JPG's compression artefacts. A photograph will often be three to five times larger as a PNG. **Q: When should I keep the JPG instead?** A: When it is a photograph being delivered rather than edited — a listing image, an email attachment, anything going straight to a viewer. JPG is the right format for that job. **Q: Why does everything save as WebP now?** A: Because it is roughly 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality, and unlike JPG it supports transparency and animation. Browsers adopted it quickly; desktop software did not. **Q: Does converting WebP to PNG improve quality?** A: No. If the WebP was saved lossily, that loss is permanent. Converting gives you a compatible, lossless container — not a better image. **Q: Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP?** A: That is WebP working as intended. It is a more modern compressor, so a smaller file for the same picture is exactly the point. **Q: Can I go the other way, PNG to WebP?** A: Yes — pick WebP as the output format on this page. It is a good way to shrink listing images that need transparency. **Q: How much smaller will the JPG be?** A: Usually 95–99% smaller. Most TIFFs are stored uncompressed, so almost all of that size is redundancy a JPG removes. **Q: Should I delete the TIFF afterwards?** A: No. Keep it as the master. JPG compression is one-way, and if you later need to reprint or re-edit, you want the original. **Q: My TIFF is enormous and the tab is struggling. What now?** A: Everything runs in your browser's memory, so a very large scan can exhaust it. Close other tabs, or convert it in a desktop application — that is a genuine limit of doing this locally, and the trade for not uploading your file. **Q: Will this fix a TIFF that opens sideways?** A: Orientation is taken from the file, so a rotation stored as metadata carries over. If the pixels themselves are rotated, you will need to rotate them in an editor. ## Frequently asked questions — products **Q: How do I make t-shirt mockups for Etsy without Photoshop?** A: Upload your PSD t-shirt template and your design to a PSD-based renderer such as PSDmate. It reads the template's Smart Object layer server-side and applies your artwork with the template's own warp and shading, so no local Photoshop install is needed. **Q: What size should artwork be for a t-shirt mockup?** A: Match the print area, not the mockup. For a standard 12 × 16 in DTG area, 3600 × 4800 px at 300 DPI is the safe target. The mockup template scales that down for display; starting smaller means the print file is unusable even when the mockup looks fine. **Q: Can I render every shirt colour at once?** A: Yes, if you have a template per colourway. PSDmate takes a folder of templates and a folder of artwork and renders every combination in one job, returning the whole grid as a ZIP. **Q: Why do hoodie mockups look faker than t-shirt mockups?** A: Thicker fabric, a pocket seam and a hood shadow all sit inside the print area. A template that only multiplies the design over the photo cannot reproduce any of the three, so the print reads as a sticker rather than ink. **Q: What size should a hoodie design be?** A: Around 3600 × 4800 px at 300 DPI for a standard 12 × 16 in front area, with important detail kept clear of the bottom few inches where the pocket seam runs. Always confirm against your supplier's current spec sheet. **Q: Can I use my t-shirt design on a hoodie listing?** A: Usually yes as artwork, but the mockup must be rendered on a hoodie template. Reusing the t-shirt image on a hoodie listing misrepresents the product and is a common cause of returns. **Q: What size should a mug design be?** A: For a standard 11 oz full-wrap mug, 2475 × 1155 px at 300 DPI is the widely used print file size. Confirm against your supplier — 15 oz and colour-changing mugs use different dimensions. **Q: How do I make a mug mockup that looks curved?** A: The curve has to come from the template. A PSD mug template stores the cylindrical warp inside its Smart Object, so any artwork placed into it bends correctly. Tools that overlay a flat image onto a mug photo cannot reproduce it. **Q: Do I need to show both sides of the mug?** A: If both sides print, yes. Buyers assume a single-image listing shows the whole product, and a missing reverse side is one of the most common pre-purchase questions on POD mug listings. **Q: What size design fits a tote bag?** A: Most POD totes take a 12 × 12 in to 15 × 15 in print, so 3600 × 3600 px at 300 DPI is a safe artwork size for the smaller end. Check your supplier's spec sheet — tote print areas vary more between suppliers than apparel does. **Q: Why do tote bag mockups look wrong?** A: Almost always because the design has been placed flat over a photo of a hanging bag. Real canvas folds, so the print must fold with it — that needs a displacement map inside the template. **Q: What resolution do sticker designs need?** A: 300 DPI at the final printed size, plus the bleed your supplier asks for — commonly 0.125 in. A 3 in sticker therefore needs roughly 900 px of artwork plus bleed. **Q: How do I show sticker size in a mockup?** A: Place it on a familiar object. A laptop lid, water bottle or notebook gives instant scale in a way a dimension label in the description never does. **Q: What resolution do Etsy wall art prints need?** A: 300 DPI at the printed size for anything up to roughly 24 × 36 in. Above that, 150 DPI is generally accepted because viewing distance increases — but always confirm with your printer before listing. **Q: How many mockups does a wall art listing need?** A: At minimum: one room scene for scale, one per aspect ratio you sell, and one close-up showing paper or canvas texture. Etsy allows ten images and wall art listings usually benefit from filling them. **Q: Can I use one image for every print size?** A: No. Different ratios crop differently, and showing a 2:3 image for a 4:5 listing misrepresents what the buyer receives. Render each ratio from its own template. **Q: How much bleed does a canvas print need?** A: Enough to cover the wrap depth plus a safety margin — so a 1.5 in wrap needs at least 1.5 in of extra artwork on every side, and usually a little more. Your printer's template file is the authority. **Q: Should the image wrap around the canvas edge?** A: It is a product decision you have to show either way. Mirrored wrap, continued image and solid colour edges all sell; leaving buyers to guess does not. **Q: Do I need a separate mockup for each phone model?** A: Yes. Camera cutouts and dimensions change between models, so one image cannot honestly represent them all. This is exactly where batch rendering pays for itself — one design across thirty templates in a single job. **Q: What size should phone case artwork be?** A: It is device-specific. Roughly 1500 × 3000 px at 300 DPI suits a modern handset, but you must work from the template your supplier publishes for each model. ## Print size reference - pixels needed per size Pixel dimensions needed at each print size, short edge x long edge. 100 DPI is the floor below which PSDmate refuses a file, 150 DPI is where it stops warning, and 300 DPI is what a print shop asks for. | Size | Inches | Centimetres | 100 DPI | 150 DPI | 300 DPI | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 5x7 | 5 × 7 in | 12.7 × 17.8 cm | 500 × 700 | 750 × 1050 | 1500 × 2100 | | 6x8 | 6 × 8 in | 15.2 × 20.3 cm | 600 × 800 | 900 × 1200 | 1800 × 2400 | | A5 | 5.8 × 8.3 in | 14.8 × 21 cm | 583 × 827 | 875 × 1241 | 1749 × 2481 | | 8x10 | 8 × 10 in | 20.3 × 25.4 cm | 800 × 1000 | 1200 × 1500 | 2400 × 3000 | | A4 | 8.3 × 11.7 in | 21 × 29.7 cm | 827 × 1169 | 1241 × 1754 | 2481 × 3507 | | 10x10 | 10 × 10 in | 25.4 × 25.4 cm | 1000 × 1000 | 1500 × 1500 | 3000 × 3000 | | 12x12 | 12 × 12 in | 30.5 × 30.5 cm | 1200 × 1200 | 1800 × 1800 | 3600 × 3600 | | 11x14 | 11 × 14 in | 27.9 × 35.6 cm | 1100 × 1400 | 1650 × 2100 | 3300 × 4200 | | 30x40cm | 11.8 × 15.8 in | 30 × 40 cm | 1181 × 1575 | 1772 × 2363 | 3543 × 4725 | | 11x17 | 11 × 17 in | 27.9 × 43.2 cm | 1100 × 1700 | 1650 × 2550 | 3300 × 5100 | | A3 | 11.7 × 16.5 in | 29.7 × 42 cm | 1169 × 1654 | 1754 × 2481 | 3507 × 4962 | | 14x14 | 14 × 14 in | 35.6 × 35.6 cm | 1400 × 1400 | 2100 × 2100 | 4200 × 4200 | | 12x18 | 12 × 18 in | 30.5 × 45.7 cm | 1200 × 1800 | 1800 × 2700 | 3600 × 5400 | | 16x16 | 16 × 16 in | 40.6 × 40.6 cm | 1600 × 1600 | 2400 × 2400 | 4800 × 4800 | | 16x20 | 16 × 20 in | 40.6 × 50.8 cm | 1600 × 2000 | 2400 × 3000 | 4800 × 6000 | | 18x18 | 18 × 18 in | 45.7 × 45.7 cm | 1800 × 1800 | 2700 × 2700 | 5400 × 5400 | | 16x24 | 16 × 24 in | 40.6 × 61 cm | 1600 × 2400 | 2400 × 3600 | 4800 × 7200 | | A2 | 16.5 × 23.4 in | 42 × 59.4 cm | 1654 × 2339 | 2481 × 3509 | 4962 × 7017 | | 20x20 | 20 × 20 in | 50.8 × 50.8 cm | 2000 × 2000 | 3000 × 3000 | 6000 × 6000 | | 18x24 | 18 × 24 in | 45.7 × 61 cm | 1800 × 2400 | 2700 × 3600 | 5400 × 7200 | | 50x70cm | 19.7 × 27.6 in | 50 × 70 cm | 1970 × 2756 | 2954 × 4134 | 5907 × 8268 | | 20x30 | 20 × 30 in | 50.8 × 76.2 cm | 2000 × 3000 | 3000 × 4500 | 6000 × 9000 | | 24x32 | 24 × 32 in | 61 × 81.3 cm | 2400 × 3200 | 3600 × 4800 | 7200 × 9600 | | A1 | 23.4 × 33.1 in | 59.4 × 84.1 cm | 2339 × 3311 | 3509 × 4967 | 7017 × 9933 | | 24x36 | 24 × 36 in | 61 × 91.4 cm | 2400 × 3600 | 3600 × 5400 | 7200 × 10800 | | 28x40 | 28 × 40 in | 71.1 × 101.6 cm | 2800 × 4000 | 4200 × 6000 | 8400 × 12000 | | 30x40 | 30 × 40 in | 76.2 × 101.6 cm | 3000 × 4000 | 4500 × 6000 | 9000 × 12000 | | A0 | 33.1 × 46.8 in | 84.1 × 118.9 cm | 3311 × 4681 | 4967 × 7022 | 9933 × 14043 | ## Guides and articles - [PSDmate Now Includes Ready-Made Poster Mockups](https://psdmate.com/blog/psdmate-included-mockup-library) (2026-10-10): Until now PSDmate only rendered the PSD mockups you brought with you.
